Excellent acting, brilliant film
Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Ring trilogy) stars in Captain Fantastic, the funny and heartfelt journey of a father raising his six children off-the-grid.
In the American wilderness, Ben (Mortensen) teaches his kids survival skills and home-schools them with a challenging curriculum and a healthy dose of anarchy. But when tragedy strikes and the family is forced to leave their self-created paradise, Ben begins to question the choices he has made for his family.
Adventurous and immensely enjoyable, Captain Fantastic is a refreshing take on the challenges of parenthood.
Great story, very well acted, well shot, well done.
Moving, funny, original and captivating. An excellent story from start to finish.
Rare to see movies like this nowadays. Great all round film.
Quite simply, the most beautiful and heartwarming film I've ever seen. Condenses what it means to be human and part of a loving family in less than two hours.
I watched this movie on a flight and spent half the time wiping away tears brought on by the whole spectrum of emotions it evoked. It's genuinely funny, sad, tense and emotive. The performances are incredible, it's shot beautifully and the story evolves perfectly. An awesome expression of film making. Spend your time on this now.
Trump’ll blow it all apart soon, but if famillies like this one survive the human race will go on and on after they’ve done there worst to us all. Captain fantastic story. This is where it’s at!
Original, awesome and heart felt. Strongly recommended movie.
Perhaps this is for a tween audience? Lacks light and shade. Making a cliche bigger doesn't make it more impressive, just more obvious. Strictly rental, and even then...
A charming film in which Captain Strider leads a plucky band of precocious halflings on a body snatching quest into the dark heart of America. Contains full-frontal Mortensen. May not be suitable for vegetarians.
Fantastic film(no pun), brilliant cast, wonderful photography and a beautiful message. First watched this film knowing nothing about it and was blown away. Seen it 3 times since. Up there with Arrival for my movie of the year
Real actors real movie and nothing to do with "mad dogs" and "sausage movie"
Drop the marketing for this movie I was expecting something like a Wes Anderson movie (who I don't particularly like), however this movie is actually played fairly straight apart from the underlying concept and feels more like Into the Wild when you are watching it. Full of clever ideas and the cast are fantasitc (especially Viggo Mortensen). It will definitely leave you thinking afterwards as to whether you are living your life in the best way.
