Having seen this at the cinema I felt that it is so far the best of the conjuring universe (I have seen Annabelle, Annabelle creation, the Conjuring and The Nun)
The supernatural thriller brings to the screen another real case from the files of renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren. Reprising their roles, Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson star as Lorraine and Ed Warren, who, in one of their most terrifying paranormal investigations, travel to north London to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by malicious spirits.
I hope The Conjuring 3 will not be set in Peckham as demons are too scared to go there. There was a demon who lived there once called Bambaclat, but he was rehoused by the Social Services and had to move to a council flat in Birmingham. Apparently he’s not very happy there because he has to walk half a mile to do his laundry and he’s really cheesed off with the government for stitching him up. I don’t think that will make a great horror film though. Maybe the BBC can make it into a mini-series or something.
Wow so glad when this came out after watching the 1st Conjuring. This is as scary which is so often not the case on squeals. well worth watching
Fantastic film ,don't normally get scared but it does the job
The film was okay and scary at times, but researched poorly. A lot of the things that happened in the film didn't happen. The Warrens weren't involved in this when the events happened. Also being possessed. The true story shows The voices, furniture moving, Janet being strangled by the curtain and being thrown through the air. Also I've never seen a Council House with bedrooms that big! Clearly Americanised too much.
Best horror i have ever seen. bangers and mash boiii
Well done, pretty scary and classy. However the British accents were some of the strangest I've heard! Stranger than the spirit world.
Finally a great horror film! Especially after the recent abysmal attempts like the babadook and It follows .This has a solid plot and pace and very thrilling!
I love horror films and I've seen many but none have scared me quite like this one. I almost couldn't watch it all. Giving me shivers just thinking about it! Genius film.
My girlfriend is a horror buff and she couldn't go to bed without me after this one!
The first half of this film is stunning. As someone who enjoys the horror genre, yet struggles to find anything truly ‘creepy’ there’s some very scary scenes in the first half of this film… unfortunately,'you can’t win’em’all' - it drags on and there’s a very nothingy bit in the middle. Overall though, well worth a watch :) enjoy
Super filmul ! Merita toți banii. Totul este bine la punct, inclusiv efectele ! 😈
This is a good movie but I had nightmares for two weeks after watching this
I accidentally pee'd myself when I watched the trailer
First of all, this film is good, but, for me, it isn't as scary as The Conjuring. The reason for this, has to do with the idea of isolation. In the original movie, the house was large & isolated. Fear & isolation are a potent mix. Plus, the demon jumping off the wardrobe, was a real heart stopper of a scene.
Somehow, the fact that the house in The Conjuring 2, is in a built up area, and that the family have an extensive support network, reduces the fear factor.
I also found that the UK drama series called the Enfield Haunting was a better crafted account of this event.
Having said this, the Nun in The Conjuring 2 is just about the creepiest character, I have seen in a horror movie for sometime.
Especially, the scene, where she is at the end of the corridor with the flowery wall paper. I genuinely had a feeling of dread, whenever she appeared in a scene. In fact, it is almost worth watching the film, for this character alone.
I also felt that the character development in this film was really strong. I had a deep emotional attachment to many of the characters, including the Warrens and all the members of the Hodgson family.
So, overall, this is good film, with some scary moments.
Very well worth a watch.
Superb horror film with great direction from wan, really scary and not a dull moment from start to end, brilliant performances especially from the children,a must see
Scary music, film had its moments but on the whole the longer it went on the duller it became.
I bought this based on the 'excellent' reviews. What a joke. The first half is good, well directed with some excellent moments of cinematography. Moving on from that it's simply an overrated film. Another overrated modern film.
Another brilliant movie of The Conjuring movie series. I hope there is another Conjuring movie with Ed and Lorraine Warren because The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2 are favourites of mine and I love horror movies. There is nothing that The Conjuring movie series does not offer for horror entertainment.
God bless iTunes by the way as, in my own opinion, iTunes offers the best in entertainment even though this movie took almost 4 months to come out on iTunes but The Conjuring 2 was really 100% worth the wait.
Such a good film, I can't believe what an amazingly good job they have done of portraying London in the late 1970s. So nostalgic and a real joy to watch. Great story, plenty of shocks to keep you on the edge of your seat. I can't fault this film, cast, direction, production, absolute top of its genre! A real treat just in time for Halloween!
Really good film, ideally watch the first one first, as that's great too! A deserving sequel!
I am a big fan of the first film and this is as good if not better. Excellent attention to detail including down to little contextual queues that are authentic to 70s Britain. Scary to boot!
Brilliant film, spot on casting from the get go with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga starring as the warrens. Top quality film and a very reasonable running time, you pay for the quality and quantity with both the conjuring films :). James Wan knows how to make these films what they are, I wish they would get more and more exposure as they are amazing. Conjuring series is definitely one to watch and in my favorite film checklist!
...however it's lost a star because, given that the house is one of the stars of this film, it's been very poorly researched, which distracted from the action. Clearly this a TARDIS house; the interiors are very much bigger than the average British house - and the exterior is very much an average British house. A 1950s semi just does not look like this inside. Lots of American houses have basements where the washing machine is kept - as seen in this movie. British houses do not. And yet here we see a basement where the laundry is being done. In the 70s we would not have had large range-style American stoves (and actually we still don't), and yet here we see one slap bang in the middle of North London suburbia. There's lots to recommend a watch of this film. It's thoroughly enjoyable and a worthy sequel. But the incompetence of the location/set research stalls the disbelief over and over again.
Saw this at the cinema and it scared me to death!! Why isn't it on uk iTunes?? It is on the US one.... Huff
This instant classic is perfect in every way. The horror techniques used are very individual and indeed very scary, yet the characters are still developed perfectly. Overall, this film is the perfect horror with many scares, but also many heart warming scenes. Even though the story can sometimes wander away from what really happened, the film is worth every penny you spend on it. I really hope that a 3rd movie is released, I can't get enough of these movies!!!
I CANT WAIT TOO SEE IT.IT LOOKS AMAZING😛😛😛😛😂😎😎😎😭😭👻👻👻
This had me jumping out of cinema seat. If love scary movies then this is must. Spare underwear recommended.
didnt expect to have to sleep with the light on after watching this movie, but i did :,(
Creepy! Love all the actors in this franchise!
Soooooooo good !!!
It's been a long, long time since a film made me jump but this movie did it to me twice! Brilliantly done throughout, the story has had the Hollywood touch added but it makes it work as a great horror flick. Best scary movie I've seen in a long while...
This movie was absolutely terrifying, James Wan has done it again! The Conjuring 2 is THE movie to see this summer, I strongly recommend it.
Brilliant film very scary better number 1 hope number 3 can't wait buy it when it's out
