Excellent sci fi movie

I cannot rate it high enough! Finally a fresh storyline without holes in the plot or unanswered questions. Quality work all around, editing, special effects, acting, music. Nice humour, gripping story, smooth but not over complicated twists. Top work, if only we had more true sci-fi masterpieces like this one in cinemas as opposed to zombie or alien themed, overused and over-marketed garbage.

edited highlights of an epic

the film sets out to do some challenging things, upset many conventions, do it a bit differently.
the complexity of the character evolution would feel rushed in twice the run time. perhaps this should be four films.
there are scenes where the actors have so much ground to cover it stretches the capacity of the viewer. but they try and I'm glad for that.
if someday they make the whole thing, I'll watch that too.

Just down right dull and boring

I wonder sometimes why films like this are made, it's certainly not to make a pile of cash. This could have made a reasonable short film but at 100 mins it just meanders along with some pretty awful dialogue and plot development.

Oh dear!

This film had the right idea, but was badly put together. The plot started out well enough, but it was as though the writer could not see an ending. Although the film is around 1hr40min it felt a lot longer. I cannot recommend it at the current prices.....wait until you are really really bored at a time you can rent/buy cheaper. Sorry!

Origin Wars

I do wonder these days if people just judge a film on how flashy the special effects are and not on the story being told. This film, i think, is a case in point. I have read elsewhere that the monsters look terrible, like an evil version of the Mystics in The Dark Crystal (which they do a bit) however there are plenty of other effects which are very real looking and are probably over looked because they blend in so well, which is the point. I particularly like the fighter aircraft.
The film itself has a good plot with a few surprise twists and turns and ends nicely set up for a follow up movie, However some of the "flash back" scene's aren't to well annouced and interrupt the flow of the narrative a bit.
Overall a decent movie, fairly well acted that entertained me for an evening, worth renting.

Poor

Sub standard movie. Poor and fragmented with a mess of a narative. Cheated out of £9.99.
