It’s just not very good.

The plot is nonsense and literally makes no sense.

The main character has no arc to her story or personality.

The whole story is a massive red herring which ultimately leads to a resounding clunker of a finale.

The lead actress imbues the character with all the charm of snail in a salt grinder.

Overall, I’d pass and go straight to Endgame.

Why is there no 4K version available? I would have purchased this if it were the case

It was fine but the character is a bit lame, emotionless and unrelatable

She’s a force and not a person in this movie which had multiple directors and writers. Very disappointing. Flat tone and a lazy plot, no sense of purpose or motivation. Watch Wonder Woman instead.

Captain America 2, Fury said reason he lost his eye was Cos he trusted someone, then goose is the someone? In iron man1 agent coulson said the acronym SHIELD was just formed in 2008, how come Fury was already calling it SHIELD in 90s? Makes no sense. Many Continuity errors in Captain Marvel

There was no time in the captain Marvel movie where I feared for her or felt sorry for her, everything was easy for her, no life threatening situation for Carol Denver’s in the movie at any time. No once in the Captain Marvel Movie was she venerable, no emotion at all, just blah, bland & mediocre

Post credit scene - Of all the chaos happening after the Thanos snap, they somehow found Fury’s pager 📟 in the middle of the city, even though the rest of the avengers were in Wakanda when fury dropped the pager 📟 in the street with chaos everywhere? Makes no sense at all

Alita Battle Angel is a far more superior & complete movie than Captain Marvel ever hope to be. Alita was strong, venerable, everyone watching Alita felt her pain, can relate to her motives/motivation/drive & wanted her to win. Captain Marvel is bland, Typical Mary Sue & Mediocre

I love the Resident Evil movies, the Underworld Movies, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Woman Woman, Alita Battle Angel, The Charlie’s Angels, Aliens, Sarah Connor - Terminator, I can go on, Captain Marvel is a terrible movie. We now live in a society where facts don’t matter anymore

So... If people say they were expecting more of a movie made by a studio that's known for making highly entertaining movies and said movie ended up being uninteresting and somewhat boring, the people with that opinion is just "threatened by a movie about a woman"?

I loved Wonder Woman, by the way, and not just because of Gal Gadot...it was a well-written and well-directed movie. I love Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman just like I loved Uma Thurman in Kill Bill 1 & 2, Carrie Fisher in the Star Wars franchise, Sigourney Weaver in the Alien franchise, Linda Hamilton in The Terminator franchise, Carrie-Anne Moss in The Matrix Trilogy... I even love Mulan and Merida from Disney's Brave. So, Lee Sowden, your argument about "being so threatened about a woman" on a lead role in a movie is a a weak argument. If you're going to justify a movie that isn't being received well by some comic book fans, you better come up with a better argument. You're probably justifying a movie that you haven't seen yet....

I went to watch this and thought it was absolutely great! I really don’t get all the negative reviews but everyone’s entitled to their own opinion to be fair. Loads of action, good storyline and I hope there’s another Captain Marvel film!

Mind numbingly tedious movie. Brie Larson is smug, dull and humorless. By far the worst Marvel movie.

Sorry but i wanted so much more from this film.

The cast list is impressive but i ended up thinking they were all just in it for the pay cheque at the end - some of them seemed to be unable to commit to anything other than basic acting skills?? ...or was it just a bad script?

Poorly acted , bad dialogue, terrible use of soundtrack ...and the make up was just appalling.

I cannot imagine who this film would appeal to?

The only saving grace here was it wasn’t as bad as Blck Panther (which was pants). But this film lacked any of the style, humour and intelligence behind some of the other Marvel films. The film appeared rushed, disjointed and superfluous.

Can’t recommend it and wished I had only rented it.

Disney really needs to sit down with Apple and sort this out.

That really annoyes me that it’s not 4K HDR here. I’d pay more but Apple has set the bar at £14. Disney not selling 4K HDR at those prices so we miss out. This means we will have to wait for Disney +

Tried to watch on computer with brightness on maximum. Film was so dark, have no idea what was going on

Captain Marvel is quite formulaic and by the numbers when it comes to Marvel movies. Marvel really need to start shaking things up a bit. There are some great characters and some fun moments, but one of the weakest parts of the movie is Captain Marvel herself. The actress playing her just doesn’t have the charisma to pull off a fun likeable character... Also the cat is a silly character that stretches reality a little too far.

I saw this for my birthday. Brilliant cast, brilliant effects, brilliant special effects especially the de-aging of Young nick fury and young agent Phillip coulson and brilliant humour especially from Goose.

It’s okay. Basic expectations for any movie is to pass the time.

There seems to be a lot of negative reviews floating around the net, I watched this expecting it to be awful but this really is fun to watch. Having also watched Avengers Endgame, it’s obvious to say this format - set in the ‘90s is a one off, which is a shame because it really worked.

Ignore the negative reviews about the actress, she does a great job, they all do - even the cat!

Love Brie Larson in it and of course Samuel L Jackson. I've not hear a single criticism of it that holds up, and i've happily watched it many times.

Still, it gets a 1 star from me on the basis that I went to the cinema to watch it, supported the artists and their craft, came here to support them a bit more, and what do I find? It's been released in the US, but not here. That's a disgusting way to treat fans, but hey, you restricted Mr Jackson to a brief cameo in Endgame, after he held the entire MCU together since day 1 so, what should we expect?

Get it together MCU and start treating your fans with the same respect they give you.

Genuinely my favourite Marvel movie - it’s witty and has a perfect balance of action and emotion. Also the music is 👌🏼

Seriously loved it. Great back story and so cool getting to see Nick Fury be more than a towering shadow. Larson is superb, as is Lashana Lynch. In fact my only negative is that Lynch wasn’t in it more. The chemistry between these two, the pure love for each other as friends is pretty overwhelming. It’s not often you see a female friendship be so brilliantly established in a blockbuster movie like this. So excited for more of this powerful woman and see her leading the Avengers going forward.

Turns out you were just coping over a cat. Most ridiculous thing I’ve seen in the whole MCU. Destroyed the character of Nick Fury in one fell scratch.

A platypuses adventure is the best film ever it is fun and interactive and grips you with its thrilling action scenes of a platypus flying into a wall(it survived don’t worry)

Also captain marvel was a great film, very interesting and helps you understand the may even more

Definitely the worst of the major movies. Character and development is none existent and a completely retconned plot. Only saving grace is Goose the cat.

I expected to dislike this movie because of how people have being bashing on it. But I went, watched it and I loved it. I get what Marvel was trying to do and I freaking love it!

Don't expect it to coincide with the ongoing storyline of the film series.

Empty characters, changing things that don’t need to be changed, good story potential but somehow wasted, poor bad guy, Ben Mendelssohn was good as always but with a load of green makeup it wasn’t believable. Brie Larson just doesn’t make

you care about the character, in all fairness I don’t think that’s all her fault, script was port and general execution could have been much better.

This is worrying for the next stage of the MCU if Captain Marvel is going to lead the avengers. I think we need a little more time before we can accept that, I think she needs another solo outing before we can commit.

It was an alright film, but I’ve seen Marvel Do better films, but I will give Captain Marvel this it had some good fight scene in it but I would still suggest that you see Wonder Woman instead because I thought that, that film had better scenes in it our should I say action scenes in it, but I will say this I just pray that the Captain Marvel Sequel is better then this one and Wonder Woman Sequel that is coming out next year. 😊😊😊

Fantastic film. Ticked all the boxes and waiting to watch endgame at the end of the month.

So many good special affects and the way the universes worked in a war saving a family in space.

Can’t wait for the last Marvel film until the individual films.

I loved Captain Marvel from start to finish. It has an amazing soundtrack, incredible visual effects and a well-thought out storyline.

I think one thing that I love about it so much is that it isn’t just action, as you would typically expect. The odd bit of comedy made it really enjoyable to watch. I also loved the portrayal of Carol’s past and how she reconnects Maria and Monica. The chemistry between Brie Larson and Samuel L Jackson alone would make me want to rewatch Captain Marvel again.

Overall, excellent movie which has created a strong female role model for girls across the world. Don’t listen to the hateful reviews - give it a chance.

I'd rather watch "The Amazing Bulk" than this as that movie has a better cast and storyline.
