A masterpiece

A beautifully crafted, filmed and narrated illustration of a golden era of English cricket. Brings to light hidden depths of the difficulties of being a professional cricketer, whilst also breathing an air of pride into any fan of the game of cricket, and particularly those of its purest form. Would not hesitate to recommend this to any sports fan, and it is essential viewing to anyone who has been part of the rollercoaster of English cricket.

Dismal esoteric rubbish

I paid to see this at the cinema. It is awful. Repetetive and absolutely cliched. Toby Jones narrative is so tedious every single analogy is straight from the sportspersons interview answers. It is not a good documentary. It does not make the subject of any interest to anybody other than a rabid england cricket fan. Even the Guardian only gave it three stars!!!. If you are tempted avoid I really wish I had. I didnt go to a preview screening and therefore I was not asked to give a five star review (probably)!!!!

1st Class Film

Excellent tale of the England Cricket Team and their journey to number 1 in the World. Be prepared for an emotional and psychological journey that will make you both laugh and cry. Great entertainment well worth a watch.

Not just for cricket fans - outstanding!

I had the privilege of seeing an advance screening of the film. It was really outstanding- a gripping storytelling of the highs and some lows of this period of English cricket. Some eye opening stuff. Can’t recommend enough - whether you are a cricket fan or not!

See how men’s mental health impacts top players

This movie offers a deep insight into the trials and tribulations at top flight sport. The extent of the rivalry between the two countries in any Ashes series has been well documented in this movie showing true friendship between men going through extreme emotions. The candour from players like Trott is so brave and will be so helpful for all men around the world. The banter between many of the players covers up their stresses. But most of all for me I saw how national organisations were so ill prepared to deal with the mental fitness side of their players. Things have changed now for the better.

This movie is so much fun - with tears of laughter and sadness flowing from many a grown man sat next to when I watched this movie.

More than a sports film!

I was lucky enough to see a preview screening of The Edge. What surprised me was the mental health aspect of the film, the honest and revealing interviews with cricket’s biggest stars were so insightful, funny and touching. A must watch!

Incredible Film

I highly recommend this film, funny, fun but moving, it's a must see. I was lucky enough to see an early preview screening and loved it, I'll be watching it again. The mental health aspect is really well covered, the impact on the players and some beautiful shots really made the film have a big impact on me.

Cricket fans of the world unite and watch this masterpiece!

I was fortunate enough to watch a preview screening of The Edge. This is an incredible watch. Highs and lows, tears and laughter. This is not just a film about cricket, it's about how sportspeople push themselves to the edge to achieve glory. The Edge goes beyond the capabilities of the players and focuses on the men behind the cricketers. Fantastic watch! Best sports documentary in years!

Be prepared to laugh and cry! Excellent.

I had the previlage of attending a pre-screening of The Edge and the film took me by surprise with how much I enjoyed it! It's funny, sad and intriguing all at the same time, learning more about the intensity Cricket has on the body and mind.

It was a great watch and I will be watching it again upon release.

A must see film of 2019.
