Description

Writer director Taika Waititi, brings his signature style of humour and pathos to his latest film, JOJO RABBIT, a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother is hiding a young girl in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler, Jojo must confront his naive patriotism.

The Iconic Film Of Our Age

A review does not do this film the honour it deserves. Watch it. My personal favourite film of all time. Taika Waititi is a genius who I would love to learn from.
There will be those who say this film is in bad taste, and it very well could have been. Waititi aces the challenge and not only makes a funny film but also one which deals with the sensitivity of the time period, reminding us of the paths we must never travel ourselves.

Sensational, Sensitive & Surreal

From a script that nobody wanted to finance or film to an Oscar winning triumph.
Taika Waititi should have been in the SAS. His ‘Who Dares Wins’ instinctive approach to this difficult and touchy subject matter should be a lesson to all budding ambitious film makers of the future. When you have competence and confidence, nothing should be out of reach of the big screen. It’s funny, tragic, satirical & history all in one. War from a child’s perspective, from a loving home in a hateful country. Just brilliant.

Brilliant movie

Jojo Rabbit is a fascinating movie. It is a mixture of comedy, historic action, and tragedy. I love this movie. I watched it on the flight. I took special liking to Taika Waititi’s amusing performance as Hitler: Jojo’s imaginary friend. This movie is fantastic and it deserves the Oscar it won.
FYI: This movie is not an 18. I don’t know who put that down. It’s a 12.

A heartwarming comedy

I just watched this movie on my flight. I initially had doubts about the movie, initially I had my doubts as to how they were going to make this believable and humorous. It soon became apparent that there was a serious comment being made amongst the light hearted comedy.
I do feel Rebel Wilson didn’t fit in. Seemed a strange casting choice.
Overall a good movie that I will watch again, and buy a copy.

Brilliant

Absolutely brilliant, this film has a very controversial premise as you know but manages to make you cry of laugher and of sadness, the film explores comedy and fun elements about being in war but then shows reality that war is actually horrible and on the 6th Jan 2020 we may be going into ww3 and it’s the perfect time to show this film, however the age 12a? Very strange since this is one of the darkest and most disturbing films of the last couple years, it’s very emotionally upsetting but is one of the best films of the year along with once upon a time at Hollywood.
