This is one of the best Movies ever made but the sequel is even better

Sonic the Hedgehog is a fun film that is based on the characters, from a great game that many of us older console gamers enjoyed, many, many years ago. A great cast, and a decent story keep this film fun throughout. It’s a film that Sonic fans will love. It’s a great film that any age can enjoy. If you are young, you should enjoy it, and if you are older, you should enjoy it. Even if you are antique old (like me) or dinosaur old (admit it, lol), you should still enjoy it. It is definitely one of those entertaining, enjoyable fun films, that the whole family can sit down and enjoy together.

Amazing family movie, entertaining, funny and action-packed. And it’s not just because of Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik; Ben Schwartz is probably my new favourite Sonic voice.

Hands down, the best moment is Dr. Robotnik dancing to Where Evil Grows! Very entertaining movie all around, staying faithful to the video games and adding references throughout. Highly recommend it to any Sonic fan.

The thumbnail states “early release with iTunes extras” but there are no extras just the movie (which is highly entertaining). UPDATE iTunes extras are now available but I won’t change my rating as no English subtitles have been included

It’s a good movie

In my opinion, I enjoyed this film, but not enough to give it a 10/10. The story is too predictable and familiar and, while it looks WAY better than the monstrosity that is the original design of Sonic for the movie, I still think they should’ve made the design of Sonic look more like from the games. At least there are some funny jokes here and there, the effects are stunning and the characters are likeable enough. That, and if you’re a fan of the games, you’ll probably have a fun time looking for all the easter eggs. Let’s just say I’m happy I stayed to the end credits. It’s not great by any means, but I’m still excited to go see the sequel.

I thought this movie was amazing with lots of caring for friends and that friends is like having a family.

Sonic came from far away and ended up on planet earth, He’s a funny blue individual with speed which is unexpected and no one could ever imagine.

Tom who’s the policeman who helps Sonic is an amazing person and he did everything he could to protect Sonic.

Egg man is also a funny character who thinks he’s right and knows everything about the world.

He doesn’t care about this sidekick he just cares about facing that blue individual “Sonic the Hedgehog”

The robots were amazing and Tom’s car was incredible.

All the voice actors did amazing and I can’t wait to watch this movie again sometime as it was fun to watch and not boring which is great.

Using Sonic’s Gold Rings to take him to different places is also unique as it’s very old school to the video game.

Well done for everyone who participated in working on this movie and you all should be very proud what you accomplished, A work of art!

To be honest I thought the film looked pants in the trailer, but after watching it with my 8 year old we thought it was great! Have watched a few times already now, highly recommend.

Good quality five star blockbuster film and I think there will be a second film. My favourite movie and I have got to admit I had high expectations.

Ridiculous that subtitles for every language but English is included, never buying a movie from iTunes again. Fantastic movie but not for my hard of hearing wife.

Kids loved it too. Worth the wait

The BFG is a friendly giant that helped a little girl from some dirty irresponsible giants that don’t even care about the outer world

I was very skeptical about this film. Having played sonic religiously in the 90s.. you think.. is this going to ruin those childhood memories.

This is a very enjoyable film and well worth the effort they put in redesigning Sonic.

I for one was very anti sonic and thought it would fail to be anything but a flop... but I eat my words.. it was Funny, entertaining, and a great family film..

When I saw this on the big screen, I didn’t just see Sonic in live action, I saw a childhood hero come to life. The action, terrific. The chase scenes, awesome. The comedy, great. Sonic’s new movie look, 10/10. Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, genius. This is a video game film that shows that a lot of heart & a lot of love went into a much anticipated adaptation of a beloved icon & is a truly worthy addition to the Sonic franchise.

I am hard of hearing and unable to watch a film without captions. Purchased this and found that there are captions in every language except English. Have requested a refund.

Great fun for all the family, even kept my 3 year olds attention. Probably the best game movie I’ve seen. Hope a sequel gets made

Sonic is funny, has references to the old genesis games and looks amazing. While the jokes may fall flat sometimes, there can be massive grand slams. Also Jim Carrey does great as Robotnik

Lots of fun for everyone!

Great film. From the trailers, both with weird looking Sonic and the remastered great looking Sonic, I was skeptical as it looked very average but I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. My 7 year old daughter loved it and Jim Carrey is back to his brilliant mid-90’s best. Deffo worth buying.

This is my favourite movie of all time

Hits the nail on the head for existing fans, but takes the game forward by showing an emotive and expressive side to Sonic that we have never seen in the games. “Tom” should have been a disastrous character yet somehow ends up being the perfect partner for Sonic to shine. And god JIM CARREY: he basically is Robotnik, we’ve only just realised it now.

Look out for all the Easter Eggs and still till the end for some surprises!! Now bring on the sequel!

Amazing family movie, fast paced funny and action packed.

It’s not just him Carrey who does a good job in this movie, the voice actor for sonic (Ben Schwartz) really suites the character of sonic and the rest of the cast are very good aswell.

It’s absolutely awesome and it’s my fave movie I recommend it for people who are a fan of video games or a fan of sonic or a fan of Jim Carrey and Jim Carrey was great the acting was great and Ben Schwartz did great at sonics voice even though it’s not Roger Craig Smith I’m fine and their is a lot of sonic references their and the tails cameo In the end in the middle of the credits go and watch it now!

Mediocre family movie with good music and okay plot line. Good references at times and I quite enjoyed Jim Carrey starting as Dr. Robotnik

Saw the movie today and it was absolutely the best film of 2020 ever!!!

Classic platform game lovers will find plenty to love with this adaptation of the famed Hedgehog!! Plenty of Easter eggs and nods back to the old days firmly cement this film as worthy of the cult series.

Sonic looks brilliant and is voiced brilliantly by Ben Schwartz. James Marsden aids our blue hero and fits well into the story.

Jim Carrey shines as Dr Robotnik and leaves us wanting to see what he would do next..

Which is why I think a sequel will follow!!!

Definitely a must see for all classic gamers and families!!!!

This movie is at the top of my top 5 favorite movies, and I’ve been a huge Sonic fan, in fact, Sonic Adventure was my very first game EVER!!!

The flossing spoilt some good moments.

The action is fun to watch and never even begins to get boring. It doesn't take up an excessive portion of the movie, but the action scenes are creative and entrancing to watch. Some of my favorite scenes were getting a POV of Sonic running, and any scene in which the world was in slow motion while Sonic was at top speed. There is some emotion to the movie and and a theme anyone can relate to: Loneliness, being an outcast, and fear of abandonment. Oddly the movie didn't make me cry, only shed a tiny tear, despite me being easily moved by fiction. But I do admit a few scenes were very touching and I felt my heartstrings being tugged at very strongly. A lot of people say Jim Carrey stole the show but Sonic himself was the most fun to watch on screen in my opinion. People are going to compare this to POKÉMON Detective Pikachu. Though I loved that movie, I have no doubt that both movies were equally good! I could rewatch Sonic again and again because it doesn't rely on twists. A few more thoughts. I was happy to see that the humans don't take the spotlight away from Sonic the Hedgehog. Even with small roles, most of them were enjoyable characters. You shouldn't expect any twists or a complicated plot in the movie; the fun and thrill of what's going on more than makes up for it. It is pure fun and can appeal to anyone and sometimes that's all a family film needs to be in order to be its best. Kids will love it. Sonic fans will love it. Everyone else should have a great time, especially if you're a child at heart. It put me in an amazing mood that I'm sure will last with me for a while. Go watch the movie expecting nothing more than to have a blast and laugh, and you won't be disappointed. Depending on who you are, the movie will likely exceed those expectations too!
