I wasn’t expecting much from this film after reading other reviews, but I came away from it having been entertained and challenged. It’s not a film I would class as comedy, though there is comedy and irony to be found within. I found the acting and direction engaging and as a father of three, I found the film challenging and thought provoking… to which it’s not an entirely comfortable watch… but ultimately I found an honest realism that made me warm to the film and the characters. 4 stars.

Whole family voted to turn it off after 30 minutes...terrible

This is not a comedy, it’s more like a drama, couple go on a skiing holiday with their kids, spend the time arguing and evaluating their relationship. I love will ferrall but this is terrible , just flat and boring. As a drama it may have worked I suppose, but as a comedy? No chance !! Avoid

Not as dark as its original counterpart (Force Majeure) but often funnier. The complexity of expectation and failure in a relationship is portrayed brilliantly. Both Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and Will Ferrell exell but watch out too for Miranda Otto as Charlotte. Her lines are a little clunky at first but her character definitely shines in the gondola scene. I loved it.

The worst film I have seen in the past decade

Please don’t be tricked by the genre comedy and the presence of Will Ferrell. The whole family rated this a zero star, the first in all our years of watching iTunes.

Expected a good comedy with Will Ferrell in a lead role but this wasn’t funny at all in fact I didn’t laugh once. I’ve given one star for the scenery. Dire!!

Firstly, I haven’t seen Force Majeur so I can’t make the comparison but I enjoyed this film. It’s about so many things: commitment and freedom, honesty and lies, love and selfishness played out between the four central characters. I found it very funny and clever in the way the film satirises contemporary social interactions and relationships. I wish I had written it!

It’s not funny, it’s not even black humour, it’s simply rubbish.

This film was so bad I was compelled to write this to warn others off. Trash. I have never hated all the characters of a film so much before.

Quite possibly the worst movie we have ever seen. It wasn't remotely funny. It was like watching your friend punisher her husband for the duration of your couples holiday. Super uncomfortable and utter rubbish!

Another best bits are the trailer another best bits art the trailer movie. Julia Dreyfus is so annoyingly over bearing I would have cheered if he’d asked for a divorce.

Don’t waste your money

If your idea of a good time is watching a couple bicker with no comedy value or story whatsoever, then watch this. You could, however, save your money purchasing this film and instead argue with your partner about how bad his/her cooking is. Either way, the latter will probably give you much more entertainment value than watching this film.
