Review rating

Interesting storyline but should be a 15 rating

Boredom

A very very slow movie... The acting is appalling and it seems that they are bored and don’t understand what they’re doing and how to do it. No real emotions exude from this movie which should be all about emotions. All superficial and stereotypical.
And as a spectator, we are bored too...
Luckily it was only 99p.
The best part of the film was its trailer...

Slow and steady

I found this film very claustrophobic at the beginning but it stuck with me long after watching it.
The first thing that hits you is the noise. And yes it’s not the most “gay” film out there. But it’s refreshing to have a story about men who love men where the central issue isn’t a conflict with their sexuality, which is almost uninteresting here, but more a conflict with who they are as people and their place in their family. This kind of representation in film is something to be encouraged I think.
Well filmed, sparse script, not sure I believe the relationship that developed but that almost wasn’t the point I guess. Beautifully shot and makes me want to travel once we’re all able to again- warts and all.

Underwhelming

Expected a lot based on reviews but there isn’t much to this - it’s barely a gay film and more about family.
The actors seem glum and bored most of the time and the relationships are wafer thin with real genuine emotion. They don’t draw you in.
The film finishes with no clear resolution to the character’s family dilema. Even the locale isn’t very scenic or interesting (expect a lot of traffic noise).
A film where the reviewers seem to be watching something completly different - can I see that one?
