Description

In 1967, fashion photographer by day and super-agent by night Austin Powers (Mike Myers) is on the verge of catching his arch-nemesis, Dr Evil (also Myers), when the latter has himself cryogenically frozen. Following suit, Powers unthaws thirty years later in the '90s to find Evil threatening the world once more. Can Powers recover from his culture shock in time to battle his old foe? With the help of sexy sidekick Vanessa Kensington (Elizabeth Hurley), he just might. Featuring a huge ensemble cast including Will Ferrell, Seth Green, Carrie Fisher, Christian Slater, Priscilla Presley and Burt Bacharach, this hilarious and iconic spy movie parody, written by and starring Mike Myers, is undeniably groovy, baby!

I bought my original trilogy boxset from the US but unfortunately for the US this movie is cut.
Thankfully the UK version isn’t cut.

Needs iTunes Extras!

Great ‘90’s film with Mike Myers on top form! It’s a shame the film doesn’t have subtitles and iTunes Extras!
The DVD/Blu Ray has deleted scenes, music videos, trailers and making of featurettes! Please consider adding them!

Already bought this years ago and it's now disappeared so I'm being asked to buy it again which is just plain wrong. I know it's not Apple's doing but they need to get a handle on it and prevent the studios from doing this.
The film is great by the way!

Wonderful film - terrible iTunes store

The film is a classic iconic movie from the 90’s that never grows old. Worth owning to be able to watch over and over again.
Apple however are not doing a good job of looking after their loyal customers.
As many others, I already “own” (although this terminology cannot really be used for iTunes content any more) this film. If you search for the film, only the new version is available and you have to buy it again. However if you go to your library the film still exists. The problem is that Apple have only left the SD version of the film available to those who previously purchased it. This is not a 4K release, just a new HD release, so Apple have got around their promise to their customers of making upgrades to 4K free by downgrading existing “owned” copies of the film so that the re-release audience include previous buyers of the film too that cannot remember if they had the HD version or not. We all did but now we do not. Disappointing approach by Apple.

An excellent movie but where are the subtitles? An unforgivable omission

Even though this is a fantastic film I remember Tim Cook saying when 4K releases are put onto the iTunes Store they will not re-list of actual get them for free. Funny how things change after a few short years. I will not be buying this again.

Why relist it?

About 5 years ago, I made a list of movies that I would like to purchase that were not available in the UK iTunes Store. I’m pleased that this movie is available at last! To my knowledge, this Austin Powers movie had never been available prior to April 2021 although other reviewers are complaining that it’s a re-listed movie. The 2 sequels to this movie have been available for a long time.

Great film, but another cynical re-list

Love the Austin Powers films (own the trilogy) and this one is great but as with so many films, it’s a cynical re-list by whatever distributor to trick people into buying again. As someone who has over 1300 purchases on iTunes it’s grinding to a halt now as Apple could easily mark the films in your library as it’s what you have bought, but they are complicit and it’s just not worth trying to own a collection now. Sad times.

Yet another re-list!

Why? Why do this and screw those who originally bought it.

Relisted

This is a relisted film,I bought dozens if not hundreds of films on iTunes with the intention to watch them “one day” , always imagining they’d be there even in 50 years time yet matter of months even sometimes weeks, the films disappear and then they are released as new again, with no extras,no upgraded picture and often a worse release to what I owned.
What have I gained by scrapping my perfect picture Blu-ray with extras ,for a average picture digital version with no extras that I now no longer own

Wow!

Great movie. I bought it a few years ago, but now I can’t watch it. It’s disappeared from my account. In the store it shows as paid, but I can’t access it.

Re-Listing movies again.

1 star reviews seem to send a message; please rate 1 star if you agree that re-listing movies on iTunes needs to stop.

I don’t know how old a move has to be to be considered a classic, but if Austin Powers is that old, it’s a classic. Comedy that shouldn’t be taken seriously.

Why?!

Same run time as the original copy I bought on iTunes. They better not pull my original purchase so I’m left having to buy this 20 year old movie again. C’mon iTunes. Give us a reason to want to shop with you and stop taking all my purchases back.
