feels like cheap tv movie

it has clunky exposition dialogue as if it’s assuming the viewer is 15 and knows nothing of history whatsoever. it’s lit like a supermarket in the pubs and victorian streets and homes. the costumes all look brand new. very disappointed considering i bought this because others gave it good reviews. it has an A list cast but it’s completely wasted on these poor production values and milquetoast script. it also looks like it was filmed on 4:3 format cameras and then just magnified to fit widescreen tvs. everyone looks like they have 70s shampoo’d hair. i lasted 45 mins. i just didn’t care enough to waste another minute on it tbh.

One of the best Holmes movies

A great film at last in HD. A ripping yarn ( no pun intended) and Christopher Plummer makes an excellent Sherlock. A great thoughtful film exceptionally acted. Sit down, relax and watch a great Holmes vs Ripper story.

Finally!!

Finally!! Been waiting for almost 20 years for this film to be released in the UK store.
Been available in the US store for years which I’ve always found irritating, given that it was made in the UK.
