Sony = Waste of Time

Audiences are savvy enough now to know that sony pictures can’t make a competent entertaining movie and instead make endless trash (venom, ghostbusters, Robocop remake, new men in black) unless they are parented with marvel (Spider-Man no way home). If you see the Sony logo run a mile. This movie is no different, the final 30 minutes are outright offensive to fans of the original film.

Nostalgia heaven

If ghostbusters 3 was the women’s edition, this is the kids edition. I loved it all the same. The ending left a tear in my eye. An ode to Harold.

The 3rd movie and handover we have all been waiting for

Absolutely outstanding!
Now that we have said goodby to Harold Ramis, the OG team have handed over the torch to a new generation. This is not a reboot. It’s a continuation from ghostbusters2 making it the third official film of the franchise. My son loved it and he was just being introduced to GB. Great family film and if you want to see your husband cry… you know who to call 😄

I preferred the all-female remake

This is a dull film. The end is ok but I’d pretty much lost interest by that point.
The 2016 one was much funnier and had better ghosts.

Good enough sequel.

Like many I had no idea what to expect from this film and after 3 viewings, I can say I am happy with this film as much as I would have preferred the 2009 video game to have been 3rd film.
RIP Harold Ramis.
Those of you who hate this film clearly have no soul and are just moaning excuses that can be ignored for life.

Boring - worst than the reboot

I was really looking forward to this film, the reviews praised the performances of the young cast, which are decent for their age, but their characters are dull and unlikable.
The thin plot is stretched out over two hours and it really feels it. Even Paul Rudd can’t save the film with his 20 minutes of screen time. Even worse, the mini stay puff marshmallow men who are clearly the best thing in the film get seconds of screen time, most of which is in the trailer.
For a film called ghostbusters, there’s not a lot of ghosts in it, even less busting and as poignant as they’ve tried to make it to Harold Ramis, it just feels uncomfortable especially with the ropy CGI.

Fail

The first 2 are timeless. This and the last movie seem to bank on that but they both fail. Badly. Watch if your not a real GB fan

A return to normal

In a world of twisted and psychological lefty nonces who demand movies pander to their own deluded feminist agendas it’s a rather splendid return normal. The garbage of 2016 should be quickly forgotten - this is so much better 🙌🏻

Ghostbusters 3

A true sequel. As a fan of ghostbusters, the reboot that was made in 2016 I couldn’t watch. It felt like a moneymaker reboot which lacked the slapstick comedy, warmth and chaos that was Ghostbusters 1 & 2. I couldn’t bear to watch the 2016 move to the end. I still can’t.
Anyway. This is a review of the 2021 film. I know that when I get this film on Apple I will watch it again and again with the first two movies. Buy don’t hesitate Ghostbusters is back!

Nostalgia, misogyny & racism celebrated

This move is a last gasp attempt by some very sad organisations trying to relive the ‘alleged’ glory of the original movie. I wonder how many of the people who love this movie couldn’t watch/ were disgusted the all female ghostbusters movie?
This is a movie for Incels! No thanks.

A sequel we didn't need but beautifully rescues the name from the travesty of 2016

This is how sequels of cult favourites should be handled - with respect. The original film is such a cult classic that modern screenings fill with revellers reciting all the lines and laughing in tandem at all the right beats. In short, only a total muppet would mess with such a beloved movie.
And Afterlife billiantly evokes the original. Sure, it could be equally understood and enjoyed by a newcomer to the series, but its strength lies in respecting what went before. The music, the props and the special effects all dovetail perfectly with the original, and the loving and brilliant way it incorporates the late Harold Ramis as an integral part of the plot is inspired.
The final scenes left me with tears in my eyes, and not just because the 2016 travesty has been finally laid out to rest. Appearances by all the original Ghostbusters in a "more than" cameo manner was an added treat. Thank you to Jason Reitman. You made an old fan very happy.

Nostalgia isn’t a replacement for originality

This film is great at making you feel like you’ve watched something good. By invoking enough callbacks, quotes, imagery and characters from a childhood favourite, it’s deliberately lulled most of its public audience into a state of believing that it’s giving something comparable in quality to the original film. It isn’t. This is £13.99 worth of rose tinted glasses. Watch the original for cheaper and enjoy a film that doesn’t pander you to death.

A homage

At 47 years old, I honestly thought nothing could take me back to my childhood. Well after only a short time I knew this would be a modern classic. Not only is it one of very few that are more of a remake that actual surpass the original but it literally took me back to the 80’s. A true sit back and enjoy film and let’s hope this is the start of things to come

Ghostbusters 3 a true sequel.

What a great film.I was weary in what this film was going to be like but I’m so happy I watched it at the cinema. It’s got everything the first 2 film had and the all women ghostbusters had as well.Great comedy moments and nostalgia moments too with brilliant new characters. The story is a great continuation of the first film.I love the ghostbusters franchise and I highly recommend you watch this film especially at the cinema.I absolutely loved the bit at the end with Signorney Weaver and Bill Murry.A great tribute film to Harold Ramis.

This is the sequel you have been looking for

Fans of Ghostbusters came pretty close to a definitive third story with Ghostbusters The Video Game but Afterlife sees this long sought demand come to the big screen
Jason Reitman carries on the legacy of these amazing films by introducing us something new but familiar. Ghostbusters Afterlife is all about family and that shines throughout this film as it cements itself into canon.
McKenna Grace is fantastic as Spengler 2.0 as they come to understand the history of Egon and his Ghostbusting family as well as finding out who they are and where they fit in the legacy he has left behind.
Packed with action and heart and a finale that will satisfy any long standing Ghostbusters fan. Afterlife will please many people. I preordered my copy and hope and pray it’s available soon so I can enjoy this again. Harold Ramis would be proud!!

Lots of fun

Saw it last night and it’s so much better than 2016. It’s not goofy slapstick with people screaming at each other. Instead it’s just a nostalgic retread which introduces a new team in an organic manner.
