By far the worst of all the franchise. A ridiculous plot that attempts to devalue all the prior films.

Too much going on all at the same time, movie jumps about far too much, not enough action sequences, too much quiet talking moments & far too long. only good thing about this movie was the special effects. sorry

I can see why people were disappointed. It’s unlike the original trilogy, smaller and more theatrical. But for me, I enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting reading the reviews. There were some great performances from the cast and overall was a welcome return to form.

Slow, and bring woke culture to the screen… a real shame.

Even the upgraded special effects rendered beautifully in 4K couldn’t mitigate for the lack of a coherent plot. Shame

I rather watch the matrix from 1999

I think, even if this film was given away for free, I would probably give it a miss. Be embarrassing to have it in my library, just to scroll past it every time.

Ok so as a huge fan of the original 3 Matrix movies I was excited to hear they were making a fourth,I can honestly say this was a huge mistake and this movie never should of been made.

The plot was dreadful and weak and no where near the calibre of the trilogy and I don’t know why anyone would of passed this for production,very disappointed indeed.

Unnecessary sequel, dull plot

Very disappointing sequel, it felt as if I was watching a poorly made for TV film spending so much time trying to explain why so many of the original characters had new faces and the rest how to untangle and explain the ending of the last film. There is even an explanation why this film was made early on, the rest appeared as if they just wanted to get to the end and take the cash with as little effort and new creativity as possible.

Finally watched the 4th Matrix film. Had seen a lot of mixed reviews but had been able to miss full details of the story. First hour showed a little promise, but after that it became bit of a damp squid. A lot of input for little output, took 135 minutes to get to a point we probably could have got to in first half and then provided little closure on what it was all about. Classic case of waiting too long to continue a story, hope Avatar 2 does this better after 13 years.

This movie is just really bad, and not because of the new characters. It’s because Neo looks like John Wick and the relationship between Neo and Trinity is just not there as it was in the other movies just plain bad.

A really poor and very basic story line with some very basic acting. Not worth watching and doesn’t add anything to the other three films.

Dire

For a reboot it was quite good, interesting new plot added to extend the original trilogy. Some great new characters as well as ways of refreshing old ones. Very funny in places.

All I will say is don’t go paying £13:99 for a film when it first comes out. Unless you know it’s a good one wait until it’s on offer or rent it.

This was a complete waste of money wish I never rented this movie , extremely boring the cast and acting was far below par 😿😿😿

I enjoyed the premise of the movie but felt it was too condensed. I wish they creators would have explored the new characters more and the evolution of the old ones too, maybe even with a sequel.

Well it’s too late it’s been done and can never be undone. They had to tamper with a formula that worked well and re-issue/refresh to ensure a tick box exercise on the big screen. Like the recent James Bond they have again taken a popular franchise and turned it into an utter mess. How can something that is this new, look so out of date already. The acting is poor the dialogue is poor and in general the story has been pulled out of someone’s back pocket which was written on a napkin.

If there is ever an example of why sequels should be made just for the sake of it then this is your golden goose. Save your money watch the original trilogy and don’t ever bother with this.

Terrible. Useless. I should have read the reviews and ratings. It's so bad. There is no story. Its not fun. It's boring. The action scene are terrible. The graphics are bad.

I truly wish I could un see this. It has ruined the franchise even more than the 2 previous sequels.

I was put off watching this by the numerous negative reviews.

I needed something to watch and thought what the heck I might as well find out for myself.

I really liked it and I am left wondering if those negative reviewers had even bothered to watch the film at all. One or two of the negative reviews were a complete pack of lies. I think the film is for those that actually saw the first three when they actually first came out. I feel it is a film for Generation X.

I got this film despite the poor reviews to complete the set.

However apart from being watchable it is quite dull and nothing really happens. There is nothing new and non of the fun and action of the originals.

I really didn’t see a point to this film. Even the fight scenes lacked the excitement of the originals.

It was a risk trying to reignite this that hasn’t paid off. This is without getting started on the ridiculous plot, something like scared people produce more power.

Visually it looks great, but after it was all said and done....I just thought what was the point? Should have left well enough alone.

Just awful

I actually had to watch this in 2 parts as I fell asleep. The weakest of the 4 by far. Not the actors faults, they did their best with an absolutely miserable script. Relying on screen projected flash backs, I was waiting for a narrator too.

Worst film I’ve seen this year so far. Be warned, it is as bad as people are telling you.

Approach this movie with an open mind and you will be entertained. We loved it!

One day, when I’m prepared for the disappointment, I’ll probably watch the movie!

Would of been marginally tollerable if it wasn't called matrix! glad only spent 99p. that was 60 too much.

Let’s face it.. the matrix from back in the 90’s was an amazing one hit wonder. It had the graphics, the killer soundtrack and gave us all this idea that we live in a simulation.. the. Everything else kinda flopped.

One of the movies you don’t want to watch for more than once.

It fails to be a good film on pretty much every level. The action scenes are poor, the story is nonsensical and the character are one dimensional. It makes the sequels to the original (Reloaded and Revolutions) look like masterpieces.

The script gave the impression that Lana Wachowski didn’t want to make this film and deliberately made it bad to end the franchise once and for all. It also showed a clear distain for the audience who wants to see more of this franchise.

I really can’t find anything positive to say about this film and that makes me sad. I think studios should think twice from now on, before getting Lana Wachowski to direct another film.

I enjoyed this movie, I stopped paying attention to reviewers ages ago, you either watch a movie and enjoy it or you don’t, and even sometimes you watch a movie again you didn’t like, and because your in a different mood or mind set, you change your mind, so it’s always better to make your own mind up.

Is as good as the 1st? no.

Is it worth seeing? I would say yes I was a ok movie I enjoyed.

Apart from its a great movie, not many see the metaphors and analogies in this franchise. The trinity and neo aspect as merge one power of all this has a meaning in most bibles and spiritual ascension. Male and female merged together we become embodied Christ consciousness unity. Heirosgamos. Wake up, your being lied too, your being manipulated to be a slave, meditate, quiet the mind, raise your vibration by doing good and you will find your trinity in time and merge to be free of the matrix. The prison planet. Wake up!

I am a huge fan of the original three, and this did absolutely nothing for me. One big cash grab. If you liked the original film do not watch this!

Really enjoyed The Matrix Resurrections a lot once the film went into the story more it made sense

It’s a 50/50 some people will love it others will hate it, Every aspect of this film did it for me & there are some really nice touches to it, Loved the Psychology side of this.

glad i watched Sense 8 now, Ah you’ll see but if you liked the first film you will love this.

I’m not going to spoil the film(but that is not saying much). the director was more interested in making political and social statements about gender and sexuality more than making a good film, not was the film just bad but it completely changed the whole matrix universe to reinforce the statements in this film. The fight scenes are dull and Neo has one move which is used continuously.

Possibly one of the worst movies I have seen in a very long time.

I was a HUGE fan of the original Matrix. The following 2 films definitely had their moments (including one of the greatest chase sequences ever). I also loved the web films and the Animatrix. So, you know, BIG fan!

Unfortunately, this film (Matrix 4) is an astonishingly bad film. To say that it has damaged the franchise would be an understatement. There is so much wrong with it. A bitter, bitter disappointment. Avoid at all cost.
