Description

Graphically amazing so nearly there.
Amazing special effects, story ok and in my opinion could have been better but really enjoyed this. Watched twice and appreciated more second time around.

Great sci-fi
Best original sci-fi since Avatar. Some plot holes you need to ignore and instead just enjoy the ride. The FX are worth the ticket price.

Gareth Edwards is the real deal
The promise was there in Monsters and Godzilla, and the delivery began proper with Rogue One. Now several years later we have this, which much like the movie it draws much inspiration from - Blade Runner was unfairly given a rough ride by critics. But you know what, they're wrong, dead wrong, and this is the best science fiction movie in a very long time.
Of course its inspirations are plain to see, Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell, District 9, pretty much everything Syd Mead ever drew and even Boston Dyamics, but despite this The Creator is its own animal. The story, AI Vs Humans could have been predictable Hollywood flag waving nonsense but it's anything but.
Visually this is top drawer stuff, outstanding from start to finish and the young actress Madeleine Yuna Voyles playing Alfie is absolutely outstanding.
If you're a sci-fi fan films rarely get better than this.

Struggling with this
The movie looks great, and it’s well acted but I’m finding difficult to connect with any of the characters or the story. I actually switched it off halfway (which is very rare for me) because I was bored. I will try again at some point and will possibly edit this review.

Could have been great
Had high hopes for this, I’m a huge fan of Edwards’ previous films, unfortunately it doesn’t really deliver. It feels like a 4 hour movie that we have only been given the highlights reel of. You can tell it’s been decimated in the editing room, hopefully we will get a Directors cut that fleshes it out a bit.

Predictable plot with beautiful special effects
Amazing CGI that is a pleasure to watch with a plot as original as a Transformers movie with a few memorable punchlines.

Sci-fi doesn’t have to be plausible, but given the juncture we find ourselves in with AI today, a father-daughter line of “creators of AI” just ignores the many great minds already working on it.
Then the evil USA vs. the maximum-inclusive China is a bit of a stretch and might seem to make it an expensive political ad that the “included” Nepalese and Tibetans might not appreciate.

..soulless pap of the most extravagant order, imagine someone who has very little taste, is a lesser film maker than they believe and has been given the green light to spend more money than they deserve, then imagine all the idiots who have taken the flashiness of it as worthiness and rated it highly. The value of this film is in it serving as a yardstick for intellect.

Excellent. Wish I’d seen in the cinema.
Elements of both Godzilla and Rouge One (you will know the moments when you see them) this is a must see sci-fi. I watched glued to the film. Everyone and everything is perfect. If you remotely like sci-fi you will love this. Great story that unfolds with unexpected turns. Love it.

Great film, good effects and really enjoyable sci-fi!
Purchased this on Apple - a great sci-if with good special effects, emotional and believable acting and full of action scenes. This seems to be a culmination of Rogue Squadron, Blade Runner and 5th Element all in one. If you like even one of those films, then you are in for a treat.
I googled the reviews before purchasing this and I couldn’t find a bad review. Purchase it now, it is a worthy addition to any film collection.

Brilliant film
I really enjoyed this film. It is worth watching. The SFX are brilliant, so is the acting and the storyline. I missed it at the cinema, but I’m glad that I bought it, as I will definitely watch it again.

Will come iconic sci-fi among a few
I have to start by saying this has elements of so many iconic sci-fi movies but stands well along as a move in its own right.
We executed cinematic experience with solid script that keeps you captivated throughout.
Will always be current and thought provoking especially as it’s a hot moral argument today…if a being has an awareness of its consciousness and others whose to say it hasn’t the right to coexist.

Strange one
This is a strange film. I am not sure what it intended to be. It reminds me of District 9. Part statement part sci-fi. The future setting is a believable one. That itself is terrifying. When you mix a statement film and sci-fi it can feel disjointed. This was enjoyable but if you look at it purely as entertainment then you may find this lacking.

By far the best sci-fi movie in years
This film blew me away at the cinema. Ignore the nay sayers. This film is definitely worth a watch. It’s an important film because it doesn’t come from a franchise already and really stands on its own. The cast and crew are at the top of their game. The acting is great and the direction is impeccable. Effects are stunning too. Everyone I know that saw this movie has agreed it was incredible.
