Living alone after a forced retirement and failed marriage, Kai decides to end his own life until a stray dog named Siu Nam saves him. Finding new purpose as his bond grows with Siu Nam, he also makes a friend in Una, the manager of the local animal shelter. With these friendships opening him back up to the world, he must confront his past mistakes to make amends with his estranged daughter Zoie.
