Description

From the guys who brought you Grosse Pointe Blank comes the absolutely hilarious High Fidelity. John Cusack (Being John Malkovich) stars as Rob Gordon, the owner of a semi-failing record store located on one of the back streets of Chicago. He sells music the old-fashioned way -- on vinyl, with two wacky clerks, the hysterically funny rock snob Barry (Jack Black) and the more quietly opinionated underachiever Dick (Todd Louiso). But Rob's business isn't the only thing in his life that's floundering -- his needle skips the love groove when his longtime girlfriend Laura (newcomer Iben Hjejle) walks out on him. And this forces him to examine his past failed attempts at romance the only way he knows how! For a rocking fun time, give High Fidelity a spin. It's sure to make your all-time top five list for comedies -- with a bullet.

if you an iTunes addict, recall buying records, the feel, smell, pleasure of doing so, have had a relationship and questioned yourself, this is for you,
brilliantly written and portrayal of what it is like to be US.
with John Cusack talking to camera, its as if he is talking to you, this is not a movie to watch as a group, its journey of pure pleasure great music and outstanding moments,
in many ways a print to screen experience in terms of how it makes you feel, original book set in the UK, but the basics are all the same.

I watch this movie every time it's on. John Cusak is brill and I love the style of the film - him always talking to the camera. It has some way funny and touching moments. Love the music that plays throughout. Don't waste an hour or so doing something else, get it watched and decide who's your top 5!

This film is not funny, dynamic nor does it provoke debate. Its not worth more than hour of your time. I watched the first 35 minutes (which was too much) and then turned if off, after which i had a better evening.

This has to be my favourite ever film. When I head it was being made in Chicago and not the London of the original Nick Hornby book, I was extremely skeptical, having been a fan of the book for ages. However, John Cusack is one of those genius casting decisions, and the supporting cast is just excellent. The skit in the shop with 'That Ian Guy...' ( ;-) ) where Rob's imagination comes to life and Jack Black hits Ian over the head with the air conditioning unit is quite one of the funniest sequences ever committed to celluloid (imho!).

Why is this not available to buy? Though I appreciate the £0.99 renting price, I would have bought this rather than rent it.

I have to agree with Vincint - please make this available to buy. If i had to choose one film to have with me on a long train journey - it would be this one.
I never tire of watching, there is always something in it that you can relate to, whether its the love of music, life or any of the other many messages in this film. As well as having a pretty deep message in it, its also a lot of fun with jack black coming up with some good lines.
Plainly, its just a film that never gets old. Thoroughly enjoyable!

This is a great film, with John Cusack speaking to camera, which makes the viewer feel an integral part of the whole story as it develops.
It's a lot of fun, and the 'Other' Characters, make it a thoroughly enjoyable comedy.
Please iTunes make this film available to purchase.
