I think that personally this is quite possibly the worst film I have ever watched. In a nutshell it is a group of creeps who run off to the forest thinking they are bad men and read poems to each other.

A truly inspirational and marvellous piece of cinematography. The passion of the actors seizes you from the start and never lets you go. An amazing and challenging film with an important message that transcends generations and the context in which it is set.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this film. Robin Williams plays the part very well. I highly recommend this film.

Saw this at the cinema when I was 15 and just showed it to my 13 year old son 22 years later and he loved it!
So very very relevant for today.

This HAS to be one of the best films of all time. Its compelling storyline plays so powerfully to the inner conflicts of young people - the challenges of imposed authority, the injustices of class, the struggles of independent thinking versus conformity, the generational divide, the teacher/student relationship, doing what you feel called to balanced against the ethical compromises that enable you to continue doing it, bullying, falling in love, acceptance and rejection, fear and courage, suicide, the tenderness of artistic expression, parental dictatorship ... all in one film!
OK, I love it. If you haven't seen it yet, or forgotten its heart, or just need your emotions stirred at a deeper level (or need to watch it with your children) BUY IT.
So there. Not what you'd call a balanced review, but undoubtedly an honest and even passionate one!

This truly is a wonderful film. Superb acting from a young Wilson from hit show House backed by a wonderfully warm teacher in Robin Williams. It made a lasting impression on me as same age as Robert Sean Leonard. I stood up and clapped with my friend at the end of the film in the cinema! Didn't care! But must admit price is steep iTunes. £3.99 in HMV!
