To ruin such a beautiful story like this should be a crime against humanity.

The story was not even close to the original, and I'm sure a treasure like Dickens would be ashamed of how we have tarnished his work.

The plots have been removed, the characters have been removed, and the whole story altered for the moron in all of us. I actually feel little nausea coming on.

For those that liked this film, all i can say is read the book, then you will realise how awful your comments truly are!!!

How I love this film! Can't believe it's already 12 years old!

It's a very good adaptation of the novel by Dickens. What I like it that they used the colour green throughout, because green means hope. The whole story is based on hope, on expectations. I also like how they made Pip (Finn in the film) become an artist here. Lovely art too.

The music is great too: Tori Amos, Mono, Iggy Pop, Pulp among others.

Definitely worth watching!

We watched this at school as we are doing a piece of coursework on one if the people in it and at the beginning I thought well what a waste of time but then I got into it and enjoyed it from there we didn't see it all but I'm going to rent it and watch it sometime soon at school we watched it until the little boy pip saw all of the wedding things of this woman (I've forgot her name!!) Over all i think it is a good film rent it or buy it to see what you think but it grabs your attention!!!!!! Write your comments so I can see what you think and to see whether you agree thanks :)

the music in the trailer put me off renting it..........when the music is that bad, how can this be the epic love tale they want us to buy into...music and emotion go hand in hand. when they chose this music they stated that they have bad taste and not an inkling of how to touch the heart.......which is what they propose to do in the film. this music evokes feelings of irritation. suggested listening for the producers: cat power: I found a reason, wild is the wind, sea of love.......etc
