Description

Amir is a young Afghani from a well-to-do Kabul family; his best friend Hassan is the son of a family servant. Together the two boys form a bond of friendship that breaks tragically on one fateful day, when Amir fails to save his friend from brutal neighborhood bullies. Amir and Hassan become separated, and as first the Soviets and then the Taliban seize control of Afghanistan, Amir and his father escape to the United States to pursue a new life. Years later, Amir – now an accomplished author living in San Francisco – is called back to Kabul to right the wrongs he and his father committed years ago.

Captivating all the way through

Now and again you find a real masterpiece, something that grabs your attention all the way through. The Kite Runner is one such film. The photography is excellent, the story strong, the expression believable, the horrors of Afghanistan and the Taliban not overdone. A remarkable film that will catch you and turn on the tears. A superb film that I should have watched a long time ago!

Excellent

This was the first film I've downloaded from iTunes and was sceptical whether it would work properly but everything went really well. I'd always wanted to read the book "Kite Runner" as it had excellent reviews. just never got round to it. The film is terrific, an excellent story, well told. The twist towards the end was a genuine surprise and the development the main character undergoes is very interesting to watch. Very well worth watching.

Amazing

This film is amazing I strongly advise you to watch this. The first timei saw it I thought it was going to be rubbish but to my amazment it was fantastic.

For me one of the best movies of 2008. It is a compelling narrative that keeps you hooked from the beginning.

Sort out your trailers

No body is going to buy this film if they don't know what its like and a big part of that is the trailer for it, every time i try to watch a trailer on here the quality it awful - often it just doesn't play. Apart from that, a very touching movie and well worth buying. Please sort out your trailers itunes its so annoying that they don't work and has put me off buying films before.

Puchase this film

I am wondering wry this film is not available to purchase as I would like to own this film for good, just renting it is not good enough. So wry and when can this very moving film be purchased. It is about time that it is, I feel deprived that I cannot purchase this film.

Superb

Such a beautiful, tender, emotional film. I warmed to the characters straight away, and even though it was two hours long, it didnt drag one bit. Although watch it with a box of tissues, as i cried many times during it, DEFINATELY RECOMMENDED and read the book too!!

Poor Video & Audio quality

This was the first movie that I rented from itunes, I was very dissapointed with the video and audio quality, won't be renting movies this way again. Can't fault the movie itself though, its beautifully shot & acted, very moving.

Fantastic

Subtle, clever, emotionally engaging and (at times) emotionally draining, in the best way possible. They took countless difficult subjects and handled them masterfully.

heartbreaking

this film was one of the best i have ever seen! i was in tears at the end as it's so moving and brilliantly acted. it also helped me understand about the taliban and howthey affected the Afghan people. read the book as well!

Almost as good as the book

Often when you read a fantastic book, the film adaptation can be a disappointment. Not so with this one. Well worth renting although I'd prefer to have option to purchase it.

Didn't enjoy this at all. Wasn't in English. Had to keep readin subtitles. Do not reccommend. Wasn't the easiest to relax and watch!

This film was beautiful. The script, the cinematography. Nothing was overdone. There are messages we can all relate to.

Fantastic Film. 5 Stars.

A very well scripted and acted film throughout. The film shows an amazing insight into the history of Afghanistan - from a peaceful and warm place to an area struck with war, violence and terrorism. The film catches your heart throughout. This is a must see.
