Description

In the great nation of Emperor Penguins, deep in Antarctica, you're nobody unless you can sing - which is unfortunate for Mumble (Elijah Wood), who is the worst singer in the world. He is born dancing to his own tune...tap dancing. As fate would have it, his one friend, Gloria (Brittany Murphy), happens to be the best singer around. Mumble and Gloria have a connection from the moment they hatch, but she struggles with his strange "hippity- hoppity" ways. Away from home for the first time, Mumble meets a posse of decidedly un-Emperor-like penguins - the Adelie Amigos. Led by Ramon (Robin Williams), the Adelies instantly embrace Mumble's cool dance moves and invite him to party with them. In Adelie Land, Mumble seeks the counsel of Lovelace the Guru (also voiced by Robin Williams), a crazy-feathered Rockhopper penguin who will answer any of life's questions for the price of a pebble. Together with Lovelace and the Amigos, Mumble sets out across vast landscapes and, after some epic encounters, proves that by being true to yourself, you can make all the difference in the world.

This film shouldn't be a U. It has unnecessarily frightening scenes and sleezy innuendo. The sleeze is not a problem really as over the heads of the kids but google images search for the leopard seal scene and you'll see what I mean. Ignoring all of the above it's just a rubbish film.

Phenomenal!

Rented Happy Feet at £2.49 which downloaded perfectly but now only shows a play option, which, when I click on it, does nothing. Not sure where the problem is but if anyone could assist, I would be grateful. This is most frustrating.

we purchased this for our 9 yr old and 3 yr old as it has good reviews and is a U rating - but to be honest the leopard seal sequence makes it too frightening for young children. The penguins are also strange looking - not cute like the box suggests. Our children didn't like the film and our youngest refused to watch it after half an hour. We don't suggest this as a family movie.

This film is totally going on. The cost is irrelevant to me. It has a lot of relevance to kids and adults alike. Go buy.

Pricing of films... who's really to blame?

I wouldn't always point your fingers at Apple for the pricing of the films. Though I totally agree that £10.99 for electronic download films nowadays is a complete rip-off,
I suspect the film studios just don't get it, even though technology and the world have moved on.
As long as people aren't prepared to buy - in my opinion - an inferior version then perhaps they might wake-up.
Though, it is more than likely they'll put it down to the fact people don't want to buy films in this way... I, for one, would certainly want to.
The only thing I'd said to Apple, is please please try and negotiate with these film studios to drop the prices in-line and slightly below boxed-versions from the high street prices.

Great film but...£10.99! Absolute rip off. You can buy this in the shops for about £6.99 now.
