Description

Staying Alives takes Saturday Night Fever’s Tony Manero out of Brooklyn to Broadway. As a wannabe dancer struggling to make it on the stage, John Travolta is at his sexy, sizzling best. Girl-next-door Cynthia Rhodes (Flashdance, Dirty Dancing) and vampy Finola Hughes (General Hospital, All My Children) compete for Tony’s heart. Co-written and directed by superstar Sylvester Stallone, Staying Alive features an electrifying Bee Gees soundtrack and some of the most memorable dance sequences ever staged on screen.

Watched this movie today and expected to dislike it because of the bad reviews it has received in the past but I absolutely loved it. It is completely different to Saturday Night Fever but in a good 'cheesy' way. So great to see Tony pursue his dreams.

It's a sequel to Saturday Night Fever but very different. I love this movie. I've seen it a billion times. Awesome soundtrack and dance scenes and a pretty good story line too. In my opinion one of the best 80's movies ever made. Travolta is a superstar in this. It's the kind of film you can watch again and again.

The sequel to 'Saturday Night Fever' where apart from the character of Tony Manero, everything else has changed. On the whole this film got slated by the critics but I love it! The songs are great (Cynthia Rhodes shows off how good a singer she is as well as a dancer), and the dancing is real chorus line stuff focusing on Travolta going from backing dancer to leading man on Broadway. Some of it may be a little cheesy but what the heck! Travolta spends a lot of the time dancing showing an amazing body that he achieved thanks to the help of Sly Stallone (see if you can spot his cameo appearance early on in the film!). Great film!
