The 'most critical' review I could see was 2 stars because the film didn't play, the next 'most critical' was four.
This is such an enjoyable film.
Script, acting, story, all perfect.
Going to buy the series now.

Great film!
Every now and then, I get bored or cant sleep and browse the iTunes library for a film to watch. Ive seen some good and some bad, Serenity does not fall into either category. Its excellent.
This film is probably one of the best films Ive seen in a long while, it is very much recomended.
I did not know of firefly the series, but after seeing the film I have purchased the entire series aswel. Thats how good this work is, its truly a shame that the series was cancelled, although calling it cancelled doesnt seem right, clearly it was not given a fair chance. No show this good should be cancelled after just one series.

Firefly
Whatever you do, trust me when i say, Watch the Firefly TV series FIRST. THEN watch Serenity. The story will make a lot more sense this way.
If you do that and my rating follows this order, you will understand it better.
Serenity is the determination of Joss Whedon's commitment to continuing Firefly after the show was unfairly cancelled due to time slot variations.
Sadly the movie did not have the same charm as the show but there is STILL a lot to keep you entertained. It also gives the story a rightful ending which you can accept or continue with the comic books that followed.

i cant believe this was tv movie could easily have drawn a crowd at the cinema great all round one of the best movies iv seen only really watched firefly because i heard about it on the big bang theory didnt think much of it at the beginning but so so wish there was another season now i just cant believe how good it was still chuffed about it now 5 mins after watching it would love to see more such a shame it has to end here great everything about this movie just watch the show first or it cn be a tad hard to follow :)

A good finish to the series
A great film but to get the best out of it you need to see the whole Firefly series first. New viewers will not be lost but it a lot of back story to take in. Old fans won't get quite everything they wanted because a few minor story arcs are left out for the sake of simplicity. The old fans will be rewarded is seeing a dramatic close to the main Firefly story arc.
Cowboys, outer space and sinister government conspiracy. All delivered with a good sense of humour thrown in. Great Film!

It's Alright
It's good compared to most films in the genre, but it's not -as- good as diehard fans of the Firefly series make out. A good watch, though, I'll give it that.

really good all round.
the only thing you could pull it on is the fx at times but the the rest of the package more than makes up for it.
good acting.
well balanced script mixed in with right amount of humour.
good story.
some clever parralels with human nature winning out, hope it happens in real life!(we certainly have some reavers in our neighbourhood)

Better than your average sci fi film
I was a bit dubious buying something based on a tv format but it turned out to be an enjoyable jaunt. As always it was the decent acting that made the film. Worth the price and worth a watch

Serenity and Firefly were here before Battlestar Galactica
Great film, if a little compressed. Get the Firefly series to get a better feel for all the characters and back stories. I did have a problem with the sound on Serenity being distorted during battle scenes, no matter what levels I set in iTunes or the system.

Just repeating everyone else
Loved the TV series and the movie is more of the same.
Great characters and above average sci-fi story. The special effects enhance the story rather than smother it.
This is a classic and deserves its tributes.

The film is great, although it has nothing on the TV series. Though, and I'm all my fellow flans and browncoats will agree - I believe the character called "The operative" probably should have been replaced by the "blue men" I feel that they would have been better antagonists and creeated more tension.

If you have a top list of films this should make it in it's a must see for all sci-fi fans it's a shame the series got cut to short would have been good to see more.

This is amazing but the tv series firefly which it is based is even better 6 stars at least can be picked up 4 about 8 quid from most online retailers

As Joss Whedon puts it "Firefly debuted and became one of the most cancelled TV shows in history", and it is a true shame that was allowed to happen. Firefly combined laugh-out-loud humour with thrilling action and phenomenal stroy-telling. Serenity can only be described as the send-off that Firefly deserved but never got. The price tag is very reasonable, and is a must-buy for any fan of the show. My only complaint is that I have yet to see the series on iTunes - I would certainly buy that as well!

Yessir Cap'n tightpants!
This film is an absolute jewel of films of the decade. If you've seen the amazing Firefly then you want to see this. If you haven't seen Firefly, then more's the reason for you to see this!
One of my all time favourite films ever, and it deserves to be as widely known as Harry Potter or Twilight.

No Power in the 'Verse like it
An exellent film for all who love Joss Wheadon's work. Firefly deserved more time and amazingly they got to make this film. While it draws together some of the plot lines from the TV series it is open enough to allow those who missed out on Firefly to enjoy the World Wheadon creates. Some fantastic comic/dramatic action helpd push the story along. A real ust see.
