yes this may be another London gangster flick and yes may be something we've all seen before but film after film its proper class from Mr Richie. The bloke knows London inside out and the kind of characters treading the cobbles. Those who dont like it can stick to thier 'chips & gravy' and settle down for another installment of 'Strickly come Dancing' instead , this is a blinder of a film and i hopes he keeps rolling them out with great acting , smart one liners and on the money tunes . its all in the detail with these films and there are those who are blind to it

I rented this as I wasn't sure how much I'd like it, after finding Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes films to be disappointing. And I wish I'd bought it! It's got it all: the cast, the action, the humour, and the writing and directing is pretty damn impressive. It's a bit like the Departed, if the Departed was hilarious and British.

Where is the sequel?!

i agee with both the negative and the positive reviews. yes Ritchie's spewing another gangster film and yes it feels like the others but i feel you can see that he has got batter at directing and pacing his films as well as screenwriting, overall benefitting his Sherlock Holmes re-makes making them seem more unique. or something like that. but i like the 'gangster' genre so as long at mixes up his cast - looking at you statham i would keep watching them. in fact if he didn't use statham so much he could've made them like a trilogy or something

its one of the best movies ever. Loads of actiony funny bits. Gerard butler is brilliant in it

Quality film well worth watching! (one of my favourites)

I really enjoyed this film!! The music is great and there are loads if scenes with humor (and not to mention swearing!) my favourite part is where one two and his mate or police and nick the car and forget the keys! Hilarius! Also the chase with the two Russian guys! They just wont stop going! Definetly reccomend to anybody!

Great film, huge fun! My only problem is with the sound quality which is very poor by any standards, it deserves DD!

This is probably something I wouldn't usually watch ,but having a bit of a thing for Gerard Butler I decided to see it, and boy i'm glad I did. He did not disappoint me.The music is a must have as well. Would recommend to anyone. The chase scene is my personal favourite.

I loved this film. it was full of laughs from start to finish. Mark strong puts in a fab performance.This is my favourite guy ritchie film without a doubt, the characters are really interesting and some are unexpected such as the character of Johnny; the highly educated, drugged up rocker. i would definitly recommend this film.

RocknRolla ends. Thats the only disappointment thoughout the entire film. The characters are loveable, the story is fast paced, clever and though slightly predictable at times (though what film isn't?) has enough suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat. You will thoughly enjoy this film. Watch it - now!

I was told to avoid this because it was no good. However, I reckon this rivals lock-stock. The right mix of gangster and bathos ensure a quality film.

I never thought I would have enjoyed a guy Richie movie but this was amazing.

I'm surprised to see such a divide between the reviews here. I watched this film a few months ago and I have to say I did not enjoy it at all. The film has been edited in a way that leaves air hanging between dialogue so that the pace of the film just feels jilted. The acting was mediocre and the script felt sort of pointless. All the people involved in this film are capable of doing great things, just didn't slick over right here. Honestly I only finished watching it so that I would never be tempted to watch it again to see the ending. Not worth your time.

Seen it all before, Mockneys and sad old Dad film. You can see the producers now... spend X$ on hype and get a way with mediocre, now who's cheap enough to come up with some Tat that will only sell to Chav types in England, cos the Scots don't watch this tat, ( clever lads up there )...MMMM Madges fella, he specialises in this same ols same old apples and pears, bin brought up on takeaway food and Eastenders...fancy an alcopop Mum...Dads being sick again. Nice Tats... here we go here we go...Can't got no money again..... British film aint what it used to be and this aint.... well anything.... hope it was helpful.

absolute quality, guvnor. Visually stunning and the script is sensational. The plot is a bit weak but that doesn't matter. 2 hours of your life you won't be asking for back!

Yes its the same old Guy Ritchie but no one ever to Van Gogh to stop producing the same old masterpieces time after time. If you like Guy Ritchie you'll love this film... If you don't like Guy Ritchie films then don't bother wasting your money then saying its just like all the others. Great Film to add to the Ritchie collection.

I agree with many others here that this is cliche ridden tedium, and I'm slightly ashamed of having fallen for the hype. I would like to add though, that the main protagonist has some good lines (like about 3) and some of the lighting isn't bad. If you slept through it you could probably guess the plot.

Guy Richie, the once golden boy of British film-making, can't seem to do anything these days without being lambasted. In RocknRolla he's harked back to the old days of Lock, Stock and suceeded in bringing back some of that underworld charm. But instead of limiting his scope to the cockney gang scene, he's also brought in the big corporate players in a story that swerves through arcs involving billionaire Russians, posh accountants, lawyers and your average London mobster. Its stylised, funny and full of action, with a great soundtrack, and features rich but slightly cliched characters and plenty of classic Richie twists. But there are a few too many of those twists perhaps, and the story tries to fit in too much in too little time, leaving everything feeling a little rushed and not quite satisfying. But there's no way this film deserves the derision its had everywhere - its good fun, and Richie's best film in ages. Just don't take it too seriously.

Take the script from all the others he's made, strain through one of his ex missus's legwarmers, leave off the boil for a few years, add a few actors kicking about from the leftovers, mix the dialogue with a sprinkling of on-stage haminess; not too much but just the right side of condescending, warm up some camera techniques from all the others. chop some stereotypes to order and of course include 'hilarious' bit about comedy crooks who lose: a. antique guns, b. antique painting c. mob's money OR d. the will to live.

Why does he have to make this crud so long? It's like watching several lifes-worth of Eastenders/the Bill/Minder whilst some cockernee has stapled your eyelids to your forehead. If you've watched all his others then you most certainly have watched this.

Am I being privilidged to watch a film so completely singular and unique as to demand a reformation of the world of cinema as we know it? No.

Is it, however, an entirely pleasing watch? Why, yes.

I watched this film last night and i could't look away it has great action scenes, great music, great comedy, great actors and much more! BUY THIS FILM best film you can watch (although the itunes prices are very high)

Another classic Guy Ritchie film, back to what can only be described as the old standard gangster movie. The film is intertwined with several different plots culminating in a classic Guy Ritchie showdown. Well worth the money for any long-term Guy Ritchie fan. Occasionally the plot was a little bit slow, but this was made up by the script and the actor's performance.

What a great funny action packed film. So Worth £11 Im downloading mine now. Cant wait for the second film!!

GREAT movie no doubt about, but the company/producers hve made as british as possible. not that thats a bad thing, but everyone speaks in a cockney accent, even from the character thats supposedly from manchester, still a decent filrm none the less, worth the watch, personally i would wait until it comes onto rent, because it i definatley one you would only watch once, anyway watch make your own view, im sure this type of movie is love hate movie

Easily the most entertaining movie of 2008. Rocknrolla is funny, exciting and, most noticably, has an amazing soundtrack. Guy Ritchie is a genius!
