I only recently watched tis film after the bad press, but it is epic, and enjoyable had me gripped all the way through, top class.

It has all the ingredients of a great movie, fantasy, adventure, drama, landscape, humor and tears. The 3 hrs were a pleasure and not a chore like some epics.

Cheap, naff, utterly hackneyed sentimental clap trap. If you're expecting an ozzie take on 'Far and Away' prepare to be sorely disappointed. The potential of this film was phenomenal - the cadre, the cast and the plot were all there. The delivery almost defies disbelief. If you want proper camp rent 'Priscilla', if you want proper comedy rent 'Crocodile Dundee' and if you want real ozzie drama rent 'A Cry In The Dark'. Ozzie films can be great. Apparently this one caved under the pressure to deliver.

Do always like romance type movies, but this one was exceptional not soppy. It told a story that you could get involved in the Characters were so real

An amazing film :)

A bad cross between "Gone with the wind" and "Pearl Harbour" - a dreadful film. The storyline is as bad as I have seen. I advise any potential buyer to read more than just the i-tunes reviews as this is not just a waste of money (and the speed with which the price dropped from 10.99 to 6.99 shows the lack of interest) but also a waste of your time. Very sad - in light of the quality of the actors.

sorry but it seems that Baz told the cast to act in stereotypes-all the aussies seem a bit "Gday" and Nicole Kidman well, thats another story. I don't know what possessed her to act "english". Don't get me wrong Hugh Jackman is delicious but it seems that this was a wasted opportunity for all the cast to act normal and tell a proper story.

Seen all the old faces that Baz had used in all his other films. No dancing or singing which may have helped the story

I missed it when it was released, and thought i would never get round to watch it. If your like me, MAKE THE EFFORT. You wont be disappointed!

The parts about the grandfather were touching, but only a fantasy. The film style is horrific and the acting elsewhere is crap. A great let down.

The first 10 minutes were enough to put me off. Pathetic acting. Attempts at being "humorous" are not good enough to... [EDIT] Actually this film was SO bad I am not going to waste my life writing any more. Bang your head on the floor instead.

Are you kidding!!! How could anyone believe that this film is anything other than the one of the worst films ever made. The (I have a genius complex) director is in the most beautiful country in the world but decides to CGI just about every scene. The script was written by a monkey randomly choosing cleche phrases from a cleche phrase dictionary "just cause it is, doesnt mean it has to be" Cmon!!!!!!! this film is a disgrace!! I feel sorry for Nicole and Wolfman because I can only imagine them watching the final cut in horror as they acted this piece of worthless pap the best they could. This is one mans disaster and one mans fault Baz Lurhman.

this movie is the best ever coz it is so emotional and breathtakin that i nearly cried (that is a lie i cried a lot!) i think all movies should be like this 1 there is nothin better than this movie! XX

I had to stop watching after an hour. It was all too formulaic for me. But I suspect the female of the species may enjoy the romance. Just don't expect a Gone with the Wind though. It was about as epic as my underpants.

I loved this film, Hugh Jackman is SO good to look at (and a great actor), Nicole plays it just right and, as ever, the child nearly steals the show. - oh, apart from the kangaroo incident near the beginning of the film! Great to see Brian Brown.....you know, there are just so many great scenes and actors in this film. If you haven't seen it go and do it NOW! But...why can't I find the soundtrack for sale? Just asking.....

About as good as watching paint dry. Just like the Country of Oz.. BORING. Avoid this film at all costs. Utter rubbish, poor acting, crap story line, boring locations. Very poor very crap very toss film. If you have half a brain you would avoid

personally for me, this film offers more than just a love story and mixes several emotions. it was an extravagant beautiful piece of cinematography and i would recommend this film to anyone and everyone.

it is perfection. the sense to an old 1950's film is matched flawlessly to an up beat adventure story with an on going imaginiatvie plot.

Hugh Jackman is at his peak of acting in this film and Nicole Kidman is too, but not as much. This fim deserves MUCH MORE PRAISE!!!

...that the biopic of (arguably) the most macho country on earth, could end up being the biggest campfest this side of La Cage Aux Folles. But then, that's Baz. Wishes to be profound and epic but fails profoundly and epically in plotting, pace and casting. Don't.

Most people would think is a sappy love story, but its not its action adventure, sadness, mindblowing tense sequences amazing, HUGH JACKMAN should have got an oscar for this!!!

A group of us gathed to watch this, it was TERRIBLE. There were some OK bits, but most of it was as I said rubbish. Lots of it is obviously green-screened, and the story-line is awful. Don't watch.

I had no idea what the film was about, but I thought it was amazing and I think everyone should watch the movie!

good film-more so for me because i have visited all the loacations and even saw part of the film being shot in darwin!

Just a quality film, terrific love story capturing the spirit of a nation and the triumph and tragedy of a generation. Although most women I know who watched it were more enthralled by Hugh Jackman!

This film is great. Hugh Jackman is his usual gorgeous self. I think it would have benefitted from a different leading lady as Nicole Kidman is quite wooden, Though hers is the only poor performance in it. The cinematography is wonderful and the scenery everything you would expect. I am a fan of this type of film and think it's a good example. Well worth seeing!

I went to see this at the cinema, its abit long but it's really good, so I bought it as soon as it came out this morning to watch again tonight! It's got 3 parts were the film could end and you think it is ending, but keep watching it. I nearly cried a few times, and I am not an emotional person!

I was gonna turn the film off after just 20 mins but i kept watching and am glad i did, if you like pearl harbour and gone with the wind you will like this film and hugh jackman looks hot.

after all the negative press I didnt immediately see this, but when I did it was better than I expected, about 30 minutes too long but otherwise excellent. 4 stars
