Description

This musical documentary captures the elusive character of one of rock's greatest musicians: Rock 'n' Roll Hall-of-Famer Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix, arguably the most influential guitarist in the history of rock 'n' roll, is shown in rare performances, interviews and behind-the-scenes footage including such legendary songs as "Purple Haze," "Little Wing," and "Foxy Lady." Hendrix's all-too-brief career was cut short by a fatal overdose at the age of 27 in 1970. But for three years -- including his blistering (and some said controversial) performance of "The Star Spangled Banner," which closed 1969's Woodstock Festival -- Hendrix amassed a body of work that reshaped rock music. Featuring appearances by music legends Pete Townshend and Eric Clapton.

A must for any Hendrix fan

A superb documentary of Hendrix's life. Comments from many stars of the day, Clapton, Sly Stone, his girlfriend, or on of them :)
Excellent footage at many live gigs. The best line when being interviewed "Are you a discipline guy ? Do you get up every day and work ?" to which Hendrix replied "Well I try and get up every day"
