I never have the chance to read the novel but luckly I watch the film when I was small. This is a brilliant film with a confused main charachter who is finally growing up in the film, and a fascinating bad guys, we can even say he become a anti-hero in the film. I don't see this film as a horror film but more a thriller, becuase Hannibal is too charming to be a terror. A five star for my favourite film and favourite character.

In my opinion this is the best film ever made and I have seen a lot of films. The first time I saw this film I was amazed that one film could have all of the vital ingredients. The acting from Jodie foster, Anthony Hopkins and Ted Levine is powerful, believable and Hopkins and Foster were deserved Oscar winners. The plot was thick and intense and the vulnerability of clarice made the character multi dimensional and thrilling to watch. Anthony Hopkins is quite simply amazing as the chilling Dr Lecter and Ted Levine- scary and menacing and oh so realistic. No film comes close to this for me an if you haven't seen it then watch it now. I am sure you won't be disappointed.

My most favourite film ever. I love Ted Levine as the killer and he was brilliant as Rusty Nail in Joyride. That man is scary. The sequels weren't the same without Jodie. I was really annoyed that she wasn't in them. They are still quite good though. Wish there were more.

Fantastic movie, Jodie foster is great and Antony Hopkins an Dr. Hannibal Lecter is mind blowing. But when I went back on to the iTunes store there was no Hannibal! Why do you have Silence Of The Lambs, Red Dragon and Hannibal Rising. Why do you not have Hannibal! C'mon iTunes put Hannibal on!

Awesome film. As others have said below, the sequels aren't nearly as good. You can't beat a bit of Jodie Foster. And Anthony Hopkins - wow! The whole tongue thing... creepy.

This is the best film ever made. Fact. Anthony Hopkins is simply outstanding despite only being on screen for sixteen minutes (during which he never once blinks!) and Jodie Foster plays Clarice Starling admirably. The only disappointing thing about it, for me, is that none of the other films (Hannibal, Red Dragon etc.) were anywhere near as good. Yes they were entertaining, but in terms of actual quality, they are mere shadows compared to Silence of the Lambs. An epic film, absolutely epic.

Silence Of The Lambs is a classic thriller horror that has stood the test of time. It is just as creepy and terrifying as it was when i first watched the film. Jody Foster and Anthony Hopkins gave brilliant performances, earning them both the best actress/actor awards for their protrayals of Clarice Starling and the infamous, Dr Hannibal Lecter. Even though Anthony Hopkins is only in the film for less than twenty minutes, he made the film what it is. It is the best thriller i have ever seen.

It is nice to see that films like this are respected by people who think Hostel and other films is great. The directing is perfect, the acting is spectacular, the soundtrack is beautiful this is one of the best films created!

I'm not normally a horror movie fan - I'm not scared by any, but I generally don't like movies where there's blood all over the place - but I had heard so much about how great this movie was that when it was shown on TV I decided to watch it. I was not disappointed, as there is not too much blood, and Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins put in magnificent respective performances as Clarice Starling and Hannibal Lecter.

Despite only being on screen for sixteen minutes, Anthony Hopkins manages to portray Hannibal Lecter as a guy who is a brilliant psychologist, has a certain charm, but you know from the very first second that you see him standing in his cell, you know that this guy is pure evil.

I highly recommend it.

A very good phychological horror, best of the Hannibal films, as it had Jodie Foster in it, the others were never the same as Jodie made Clarice a character that could not be played by anyone else, Anthony Hopkins is super as Hannibal, Excellent Film

This is the best horror film I've ever seen - Jodie Foster's performance is great but Anthony Hopkins totally steals the show as Hannibal Lecter, who's terrifying and yet very likeable. It's not ridiculously gory like many horror films (eg American Psycho) but it's still very scary and will have you watching it again and again. A classic and at a good price!
