Description

Two musicians, Joe (Tony Curtis) and Jerry (Jack Lemmon), are thrown out of work when the speakeasy they performed in-owned by mob boss Spats Columbo (George Raft)-is raided by Prohibition agent Mulligan (Pat O'Brien) and closed. Finally, after three long weeks of unemployment, Joe and Jerry get a gig in Urbana. But first they must get their car out of hock...at the garage chosen by the mob for the St. Valentine's Day Massacre. Hiding behind their car, Joe and Jerry witness the whole thing. Targeted for extinction, Joe and Jerry never show their faces again. There is an opening for a saxophonist and a bass player in an orchestra managed by one Sweet Sue (Joan Shawlee)...an all-woman orchestra. They get the job! On the way to Florida, they meet Sweet Sue's lead singer, Sugar Kane (Marilyn Monroe.

This is a very funny film and Marilyn Monroe shows that she's more than just a pretty face and good singer. Fun plot, great wisecracks and perfect timing make this a superb example of what comedy should be.
As for why it took so long for Apple to release it on iTunes?
Well, nobody's perfect!

One of the best comedies of all time, capturing three cinema greats in one of their best career moments. Stunning in HD. Very glad it’s now available on the iTunes Store - although the older reviews seem to indicate it has been before!

Everyone's heard of Marilyn Monrowe, but no-one's ever actually heard or seen her before.
It was the same with me. Some Like it Hot is my first time watching or even hearing Monrowe,
but, rest assured, it won't be the last. I have seen Jack Lemmon before in The Odd Couple and
How To Murder You Wife (if you like black and white comedy, watch these!) and I think he's great!
Never have I seen Tony Curtis, but he's amazing too! WATCH THIS FILM!!!

Everyone should see this film. Don't be put off by it's age or the fact it's in black & white. It's an absolutely timeless film which I'm certain will still be getting laughs in years to come!
One of Marilyn Monroe's best films - but all the cast are fantastic. Jack Lemmon in particular!
I've seen this film more times than I can remember & I've loved it as much as the first time I watched each time. 100% recommend it!

This movie will have you laughing from start to finish.
I'm a huge Marilyn Monroe fan and loved this movie so much that I'm always wanting to watch it over and over.
It's a fantasticly funny movie with old comedy, you will love it.
It really is worth the buy.

I've been waiting for this to be uploaded for ages and I am so pleased!! Don't be put off by the fact that it's a black and white film because the acting is superb, the humour is witty and sharp and the characters are awesome. A must see for anyone with eyes and a good taste in comedy films!!

Actually, strike that title comment. Some Like It Hot has to be one of the best movies of any genre in cinema ever made, as it succeeds on so many different levels. The plot and script are witty and sharp, the characters are easy to identify with andhilarious, the acting is a masterclass in comedy and the laughs are constant throughout. Without a doubt this is one of my favourite films, and contains one of the best closing lines ever. After a movie full of two guys in drag, a sweet
girl singing, and a bunch of gangsters pursuing them, what else is there to say except that "Nobody's perfect!" A comedy masterpiece which has never been bettered.
