A great film with a superb ending

Description
A taut action film, an epic chase and primal battle set in the breathtaking landscape of the West. an excellent film with a twist near the end but a poor finish left open

Decent western
Not a bad film but prone to a little dreariness at times, the rather good start peters out fairly swiftly and the plodding aspect of the film takes over.
Pierce chews his way through his scenes with his usual overacting and Neeson doesn't do much better, but for all that they're likable enough screen presences - you get the feeling they wanted to make a classic.. The suspense is a little lacking and the narrative drive is a bit of a letdown - particularly when you find out the event that precipitated the whole event. Still, worth a viewing though especially for 2.49, but certainly - you'd be better off watching the much better '3.10 to Yuma'; the excellent Bale & Crowe western from around the same time.
