Description

As this science fiction classic opens, botanist Freeman Lowell (Bruce Dern) has spent eight years aboard the space freighter "Valley Forge" preserving the only botanical specimens left from Earth under huge geodesic domes. When he receives orders to destroy the project and return home, Lowell rebels and hijacks the freighter, while plunging the craft into the gaseous Rings of Saturn. From that moment on, he has only the trees, the gardens and two "Drone" robots, Huey and Dewey, to keep him company on his greatest adventure of all.

Robots, trees, heart, passionate.

Great film. However I have to say that this isn't a blockbuster special effects action film. It has an ecological message.

One of the all-time greats

The effects might be dated but the tale holds good with its eco themes striking a contemporary chord, without overpowering the story of a man haunted by his actions and the growing realisation that the means don't always deliver the ends we want...as all good tragedies show us. A great film.

Loved it.

I Love this Film.
It has a 1970's feel about it with the go cart's and stuff, But the story is rock solid.

All time classic

Had this as an ex-rental copy...a classic film!
The music is a bit dated but the story is just as good as it was when released!
