Description

This acclaimed British comedy centers on the intermittent romance between a charming (if slightly bumbling) Englishman and a beautiful American woman, who seem to always run into each other at weddings. Indeed, it is at the first of the title's four weddings that Charles (Hugh Grant) and Carrie (Andie McDowell) meet, enjoying a brief but fleeting connection. The spark is rekindled several months later, when they unexpectedly meet at another wedding. Unfortunately, however, Carrie has become engaged to another, a fact that complicates matters for them both.

Fantastic film. Truly a film i can watch over and over again. This would be purchased in a heartbeat if it was available in HD. If you made it clear that you could purchase it now in SD and "upgrade" to HD for the difference in price I would buy MANY more films. Just a thought.

Brilliiant script and lovely cast. Richard Curtis movies don't get any better than this.
Perfect entertainment with lots of funny bits. Kind of timeless. Like honey - but you don't
want to eat the whole jar in one go. if it had been the 50s Cary Grant would have been the star.
Here we have Hugh Grant who strides the boards like a staircase. Magnificent and wooden.

Absolute classic!

I was only young when this film came out, so I did not see it until about '98, but when I did, I loved it!!! Hugh Grant is gorgeous in this and it is such a funny movie!!! I loved the part where the Charles walks up to the old man at the first wedding and says "hello my name is charles" and then the man replies with "don't be ridiculous, Charles died twenty years ago"!!!! absolutely hilarious and so romantic, it is an ultimate chick-flick and I recommend this to any fan of rom-coms or Hugh Grant.
