Let's keep it short. This is an extremely bad movie.

Good movie with Matt Damon giving a good performance. Story was action packed. Great bargain from the 99p rental range.

A very predictable snooze fest.

The problem with type casting is you have a sub-conscious idea of the type of film Matt Damon will appear in.

This is different it is a good thought provoking film and he is excellent in it. It tells a story which we can all relate to "where were the wmd's and how much pressure was exerted to find that which (as it turned out) did not exist.

Told from a serviceman's angle. Very enjoyable film and well worth 4 stars.

The other cast members are also very good in their rolls

if ur hoping for a full on action film, then ur not gonna get one, but this has a bit of action, but its more of a thriller. it realy good and i love it. its the sort of film where u just sit down, and u dont want to get back up because its so interesting. trust me. i love all the rambo films and all the zombie films and all these sort of realy violent sort of films, but this isnt any of that. it just an awesome film that u can realy look forward to.

the only flaw is that the camera work is a bit annoying, but its still amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An excellent movie with a well thought out story line!

Great film & screenplay.

This film needed to get the balance between action and plot right and although it came close it didn't prevail so if you do buy or rent this don't expect a fast paced typical action movie. Take it slow and pay attention to the plot and you should enjoy it :)

At first this looked quite good, I have seen the Bourne movies and I thought they were excellent and well thought-out and because it is directed by the same person and has the same person as the main character I thought this was going to be good as well. After seeing trailers I thought it might be more like The Da Vinci Code than Black Hawk Down but when I watched it was out of this world! You never get bored (and I'm being true full here) there isn't loads of action but you get enough and the storyline is just incredible, I was hooked all the way through! The acting is also done very well and the whole directing is great! And I must admit, I really didn't want it too end!!!! YOU MUST GET IT NOW!!! 10/10

The Bourne comparisons were inevitable and I think that undermined the fil overall. Another reviewer said they were half expecting damon to take on 10 bad guys and for Moby to kick in but it should be viewed differently. For a start Damon doesn't play a $30m dollar superspy, he's a standard run of the mill soldier. Aside from the character differences the location and the context are different although some of the themes are similiar. it's more like a 24 than Bourne with it's conspiracy theories. Furthermore it lacks the pace of Bourne so the comparisons are a tad unfair. It's somewhere between a war movie and a thrillier and I think that confusion in genres is it's only downfall. It's not Black hawk Down and it's not Bourne but none the less it is still very good. I've already mentioned the pace of the film andI think the pace reflects the characters frustrations nor is it an edge of the seat affair but it grips you and you can't let go, again, much like Damon's character.Overall it's an intelligent thriller/action/war movie, that's very well made, with great acting and direction. Pretend you've never seen Bourne and I think it works very well.

Biggest disappoint 2 come out of a Matt Damon in a long time! Good opening scene but really does go down hill and naff all happens. Save urself some money and go rent/buy The Bourne Films. Much better!

Pretty much from the start.

Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon team up again and I was expecting great things.

The film was just banal film making with nothing new to say.

Just finished watching green zone worth the watch, good action and suspense film enjoyable worth buying, matt damon good as always does feels very like Bourne identity in Iraq but still good. Don't know why others have criticised the ending pretty straight forward and sequences between action still move fast enough to keep your attention. Enjoy I did!

Excellent film - although does have a slightly predictable ending. Based on the most likely truth on why the Invasion of Iraq took place. Great acting and plenty of action throughout.

Matt Damon does a good job in this film, the script is well written and the action scenes are very good. Just remember its a film, dont come out of the cinema thinking about the politics behind it and you'll enjoy it immensely.

Paul Greengrass and Matt Damon have yet again made an awesome movie! Very realistic, totally convincing in the role and a great plot that keeps you watching until the very end!!

I'm afraid that as a fan of the Ludlum series featuring Damon's action adventure character I bought this expecting a more intelligent story and plot. Sadly disappointing in that respect the whole issue of WMD in Iraq is handled with the delicacy of Godzilla and the entire story looked jaded and badly thought out.

Damon does his best but there is so little actual story he finds it hard to be convincing. In short, unrealistic, absurdly pro-American and I would not recommend it to anyone but Robert Reagan (bless his cotton socks!).

Stick with Robert Ludlum is my advice!

Brilliantly executed, once again the production team have put together a great thriller. This film is perfect for all you War/conspiracy/thriller seeking addicted.

Fast moving, action packed and gritty.

The movie had a good plot but lacked action. I was expecting so much more as the last two bourne movies were excellent. What a shame even though matt damon gave a great performance.

I know people are entitled to their own opinions but to say a film like this is boring is just ridiculous. Ok, it may not be to your taste but it's action packed, has a good storyline and Damon delivers his performance with the same credibility that he has done with all his films. To rate this anything other than entertainment is like saying you don't like childrena nanny films and then watching Nanny McPhee - some folk just like to moan!

I can't see why people dislike this film. Good acting, a good plot and very entertaining. Well worthy of a rent!

Unlike the other Bourne movies but still stuffed with action

The day i watched this gripping movie i also watched the highly recommened hurt locker, so i had a good foundation to compare both movies. I realy enjoyed the hurt locker, a very powerful film which you won't want to walk away from.

Green zone embraces you, Matt Damon again giving a five star performance as usual. The plot was thicker and takes more thought than other movies of the sort, but don't let that put you off theres still plenty of action in this film, as is every film Matt Damon stars. 5*

Im not here to write a poor review of the film, because the film itself is not bad. If you have seen this film, just watch the trailer for it again. Im sure they look like two completely different films. I was just about to watch another film, when the trailer came up. It's just annoying as i remember watching it and was like 'why did i rent this'. Then after seeing the trailer it clicked. If the film was slightly worse than it all ready is, i would be wanting a refund!

Action packed and a film worth watching. Makes you think why we really at war.

I saw this at the cinema, and after a little while I was constantly struggling with micro-sleeps. Very dull.

Great to see real Iraq in a movie about Iraq for once. Essentially it's trying to be a Bourne-style action thriller with - shock horror - relevance to current affairs. Unfortunately there is simply no plot if you are aware of the history of the conflict. The big revelation (spoiler alert) is the well known fact that the much publicised WMDs were false intelligence from an ambitious Iraqi would-be leader. And that's about it. So enjoy the gritty soldier action but don't expect any surprises or insights.

Saw this at the cinema. Fantastic war film.

Anyone who likes Cod (Modern Warfare series) would love this!

Just watched the Green Zone, it's great film with plenty of action with feelings of Bourne and Black Hawk Down,good acting and a good after thought. funny how art/film can imitate real life, corrupt politicians and the causes of war Vs the truth etc etc...

Absolutely LOVED this film. The action. plot and pacing are fantastic. Easily one of the most intelligent and interesting war films ever made.

It is the best war film I have ever seen

Green Zone is Paul Greengrass's attempt at making a contemporary war movie in the style of the Bourne Trilogy. The action is brilliant and as per Jason Bourne, it has a tense momentum throughout. It never gets dull. The story line is interesting and we see Greengrass try to expose what every man-and-his-dog film Director tries to expose; some kind of conspiracy. This time it's the WMD conspiracy. He does a good job at provoking the viewer into questioning the motives behind the War in Iraq. But to be honest, we don't need provoking. As much as we're proud of our soldiers, everybody knows there could be a lot of corruption behind the War. Now the negative side: The CGI stands out. Massive transporter helicopters, planes, Saddams Palace and even Baghdad are created in CGI to represent what it would of looked like in 2003. Also, the Bourne stylizing becomes overkill. In the end you just want Matt Damon to beat 10 guys up singlehandedly and then for Moby 'Extreme Ways' to fade out the music. But that doesn't happen. What we're left with is a Black Hawk Down, 'been there done that, bought the T-shirt' type film.

Great action scenes, but spoiled by how much they dragged it out at the end

(spoiler alert)Good film however, i guessed the ending of the film quite quickly and it was obvious the iraqi translator was going to be the one to kill the general and that the general was their source all along-also as usual rotten tomatoes ratings have been not particularly accurate that's why i use spill for movie ratings-also i got a plug for them out of this review :P
