Description
Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin) is a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort, a tough and stoic gunslinger who can track down anyone...and anything. Having survived death, Jonah's violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the "other side." His only human connection is with Lilah (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own. Jonah's past is about to catch up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can't refuse: in exchange for his freedom, he must track down and stop the dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich). But Turnbull, who is gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah's oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead. Based on the legendary character from the graphic novels, "Jonah Hex" is an epic adventure thriller about one man's personal quest for redemption against the vast canvas of the battle between good and evil.

Disappointing and haphazard
I was expecting a very well conceived and brilliantly executed film after watching the trailer for Jonah Hex, but soon found that I was very much mistaken by the product. The director and producers seemed to have Megan Fox wear such skimpy costumes as to make Messalina, notorious adulteress and wife of the emperor Claudius, look like a normal person. The dialogue was not funny and jumped as often as the scenes. I felt that I had been cheated out of a very promising film after Jonah Hex finished and will ensure that I read the reviews carefully to avoid future repeats.

Really, really dismal.
This film has almost no redeeming qualities. The comic-strip feel is no longer new or clever and actualy gets in the way. Although it could be used to distract viewers from the complete lack of acting throughout, the plotline that just doesn't belong in a western, and a complete mish-mash of cultures and technology that stretches credibility much too far.
I like fantasy films if they are good. This one is badly thought-out with even worse execution. The mixture of fantasy and western just didn't work.
I notice it can only be bought. Shame, because it certainly doesn't warrant anything other than cheap rental.
Its 15 cert is probably deserved but I can't imagine anyone much older than 15 enjoying it much.
Epic fail.

Not very strong on the plot, and too gimmicky. Trying to be too clever and so missed the opportunity to be a great movie.

Jonah Hex
My family and I have just watched Jonah Hex. Whilst it may not be the greatest film ever made, it is certainly better than is generally rated. It is well-paced, with some good action sequences and some new special effects which were different and intriguing. We all enjoyed it as good Saturday evening entertainment.

Good film
Admittedly not the best film ever; but its a film you can sit and easily enjoy. The plot has holes in as big as France but so what, its just a film anyone can watch, not take too seriously and have fun watching!

Poor, very poor!
Really wanted to disbelieve the bad reviews and hope for an entertaining hour and twenty mins. Unfortunately I didn't get anywhere near entertained! How in this day of high public demands can they pass this off as a blockbuster!!?? Woeful script, poor acting and a reliance on big explosions for no particular reason! I hope in movie school they use this tripe as a teaching aid on how NOT to make a movie!!!

One of the Worst Movies I've Ever Seen!
Poorly scripted, poorly acted, ridiculous and cringeworthy. It's neither funny nor gripping. So bad, in fact, that it bypasses funny and heads straight for diabolical. And at only 75 minutes long, how it justifies being a movie at all beggars belief. Just goes to show how few ideas the producers had that they couldn't even add at least an extra 15 minutes of story or action. An embarrassment. This 'film' should never have been made. All involved ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Ignore the negativity
I watched this film not expecting much but I have to say I thought it was decent, my only problem was that the film was too short, its running time is something like 75 minutes, just felt it could have done with 15 extra minutes of Megan fox getting her bits out

A lesser wild wild west
This film was just a waste of time obviously someone in the accounts dept decreed that a film must be made to plug a hole in profits somewhere .
The plot was boiled down to its bare essentials . They could have done so much more and so much better , it needed much more meat . It would have been better as an 18 and plot holes such as how does turnbull know lusk or for that matter how does hex know the smith or megan foxs character . Great cast , poorly used , with a bad script. I find this hard to say but wild wild west is 10 times better than this trash

Good movie
I really can't understand why people are saying this movie is so bad,ok its not a great epic movie but its still a good movie and doesn't deserve 1 star,for me its a 3,i don't think this is worth 9.99 though,should be a 6.99 movie,my advice either rent it for now or wait till the price comes down a little. And if you don't put your expectations too high then buy it and you won't be dissapointed.

I agree with most - terrible film and waste of money
I was looking forward to this and what a disappointment is was. Not even a lonely night on my own type of film. Just terrible from every angle and a waste of talent since even some of the best could not do this one any good.
Bottom line is just enjoy avoiding this one. There are much better and cheaper films out there to fill in the night.

I enjoyed it, guilty pleasure, def entertained for the evening. Bit like watching cartoons, the story etc isn't amazing but the scenes keep your attention enough I'd say. Reminded me of wild wild west.

Hexed Jonah
The closest comparison for Jonah Hex is the equally poor Wild Wild West - that terrible mix of alternate reality and high-tech steam weaponry in the 'Wild West' that momentarily killed the careers of both principal actors Smith & Kline. All JHex does is prove John Malkovich really doesn't bother trying - man he looked bored throughout this, and Josh Brolin simply tanked. The much vaunted bolt-on Ms Fox was shot in soft focus throughout and had as much screen presence as I did (ie none).

Boredom
I was really bored on a Sunday afternoon, so I decided to rent this...
Now I'm still bored and down £3.49!
iTunes, thanks to you I feel like Megan Fox's character - cheap and used. If you don't get some more entertaining, thoughtful and innovative films soon (not just Hollywood's castoffs), I shall go elsewhere for my movies.

Best thing about this film is the box art. I fell asleep watching it because it was crap. Can't be any more honest than that. Even Megan Fox in a corset couldn't keep me interested. Keep your money.

a generally good film, however the plot line seems very muddled, one moment he's been shot and survived, the next he's talking to dead people. I don't think much of the film is explained properly and this was quite confusing. The action compensated some of these let downs and that's the only reason it's earned 3 stars instead of 1. I believe film is a good example of the phrase 'don't judge a book by it's cover'.

......and feels strangely rushed.
Not quite as awful as reputed, but I cant really recommend this film. (It's from the makers of GAMER, that tells you all you need to know)
Rent only if you have NOTHING better to do.
Fox is perhaps the healthiest looking prostitute since Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman and Brolin is completely wasted (as is his character). The door is left open for a sequel, wishfull thinking there.

a potentially sexy film noir but delivers a contrived story line of nothing rambles on and on with irrelavant flash back flash forwards that are not cohesive and frankly smells of mismanagement and crap work dont buy even if you fancy megan....terrible

Just awful, awful and more awful. Despite numerous directors coming and going, financial woes and script rewrites, Josh Brolin fought to get this movie made and released; he should've just painted a wall and filmed it drying as it would definitely have been more entertaining.

A great comic style western
John malkovick plays a great baddie, non stop action, a bit sahara like entertained the wife who is not a fan of comic style stories ie sin city, but it reminded me of outlaw josie Wales with special powers, deff rentable let me know if I got it wrong!
