Thank you! This documentary has opened my eyes for me. No wonder why nothing has changed that much since the Obama's administration!

Disturbing - a must-see film

Since watching this film I have encouraged all my friends to see it. I always wondered, 'Where did all the money go?' This film explains fully and clearly the corruption that has caused the global economic meltdown. It's scary that so few people wield so much influence over us all, without any proper regulation or body to answer to. Could it happen again? Yes. Will it happen again? Yes - if we all sit back and do nothing. We have to petition our politics a to change this corrupt system. The greed and insensitivity to the consequences of their actions shown by the financial institutions and the individuals involved in incredible and maddening. I am not easily shocked but this film went through me like a thousand volts. Watch it.

too skewed

a bit too emotional and skewed to one side -- against the financial services. hard to claim any authority on the subject if the real decision makers all refused interviews but prostitutes did not .. i recommend watching the south bank show with Bird and Fortune on credit derivatives instead, it's shorter, straight to the point and more fun

"Some things are worth fighting for"

School pupils should watch this as part of their education in order that future generations might understand the failings of their forebears.
A frank, comprehensive, eloquent and digestable appraisal of how bankers found and exploited the means to rob everyone else of their livelihoods, pensions and homes.
Ruthless journalism at its best.

Goodness you didnt know already!!!

I think the title says it all. Complexity hides a lot these days and theres nothing more complex than the worlds finanical systems. Greater interdependency is a worrying prospect when the music stops. Who still has a seat? and why is this not offered as a rental? Its a yarn for the producers, if your really interested look at the free material available in itune uni. Just as informative, just takes some looking. Shame people didnt think about that before trusting the banks!

Technically Great

I absolutely loved Michael Moore's 'Capitalism: A Love Story' and for anyone who, like me, enjoyed that film, then 'Inside Job' is a must.
Inside Job is the technical other half to Moore's film, focusing not on the conflict between Socialism and Capitalism, but on how the banking crisis and economic meltdown occurred, and just how ruthlessly selfish those in positions of economic power have been.
If you really want to learn about how governments, banks and insurance companies were at the centre of this crisis, watch this film immediately. Fascinating.
As a final comment, Matt Damon is a fabulous narrator.

Brilliant!

This is a shocking documentary that shows the greed and arrogance of the powerful people on Wall Street, and how they are influencing the major governments to make the situation worse.
Why politicians do not regulate the financial industry is beyond belief. Bankers are too selfish to care about the risks they take whilst trying to hit their targets to ensure their next bonus. And, of course, it is the ordinary person that suffers the consequences of their convoluted mathematical models that create fool's gold.
I have worked for various Swiss banks, and yet I still found this documentary disturbing. Highly recommended to anybody that does not want to be spoon fed lies.

Strongly recommend it

If you really want to know the truth of what happened during the financial crisis then watch this film.
It is convincing, clear, well told and the finance explanations are really easy to understand for anyone!
I believe that the more people know the truth about what many big financial firms are up to - basically: gambling, lying, stealing - the more people will speak up in every country and finally get the governments to regulate the finance industry so that it benefits the majority of people and to put to justice the irresponsible criminals that helped create this economic crisis.
Well done to the director for his obviously extensive preparation and great interviews! And to him and his team for a great job!
The documentary 'Mother - caring for 7 billion' (not on itunes) is of a similar scope of topic and I would recommend it to anyone who liked 'Inside Job'.

Everyone should see this film!

This is a well made careful analysis of how the world financial system has fundamentally changed, how a few greedy individuals have prospered without thought for the millions of people their actions harmed and affected. Please watch this film....it makes some complicated financial smoke and mirrors much clearer...

Inside Job

This is an issue that is handled with a forensic analysis that does great credit to its producers. The documentary illustrates how the architects of the global financial edifice, who caused it to collapse, who personally profited in doing so, now serve in an advisory capacity in a current US administration who pledged a radical reform and then failed to deliver it. The documentary shows how every country in the planet has been affected by the economic collapse, connected as they are to an interconnected web of a global financial market that literally holds the power of life and death over millions of people on the planet in a manner that eclipses conventional politics. I kept asking myself throughout this film, 'could this happen again'? The answer in my view is 'yes it can and probably will'. The film left me with the opinion that democratically elected institutions throughout the world, through a combination of financial deregulation and corrupt politics have created a Frankenstein monster, impossible to kill. What we are witnessing is the road to serfdom for millions of people in a massive transfer of wealth from those who create it, into the hands of a small coterie of financial institutions who wield enormous global power. The case study of Iceland at the start of the film is only half the story since the destabilising effect of financial meltdown in now being played out on the streets of Athens in a manner which should concern us all!
In conclusion, the film is as important for what it does not explore as much for what it does, for what is implicit as well as explicit. It is both and explanation as well as a warning!
