Outstanding film! Should have won every award going - top quality script, direction and perfect performances all round. 10/10.

There seems to be a lot of negative reviews about this film. Yes, its not your average story and the premise is a a bit strange, however I found this an exceedingly good watch. Mel Gibson is in fine form as a man suffering from bad depression. The supporting cast are excellent and I for one would recommend this film. Its certainly not a comedy, more a drama. With that in mind its a well though out film dealing with the problems of mental illness. There is a message in there.

Don't be put off by the Beaver! Very watchable film, keeps you interested all the way through as the plot and characters develop. Regardless of the recent furore surrounding Mel Gibson he does an excellent job alongside Jodie Foster (who directed the film). This is no action movie, but tells a great story of mixed up lives, and the fact that love and redemption are possible even in trying circumstances. This is a warm, sad, but lovely film. Much recommended

Sorry to say but watch this film, we can't. Maybe because it is HD it is only about 6" wide, should have gone for the normal mode. BUT hey nobody will care, the only option I was shown is HD buy or rent. £13.99 gone forever

Mel Gibson at his best! The film is profound in parts...not your average hollywood film. Jodie Foster is also v good.

This isn't a Comedy, just laughably poor.

Awesome return to form for Mel Gibson.

I rented this from the iTunes store as I fancied a laugh. The Beaver was listed in the Comedy section and had a cheerful front cover. What we found was that it was a dark drama and not a comedy!

The film was OK but the relationships are clumsy and many parts of the story seem to be bolted on rather than integral to a flowing story that takes you on a journey.

I'm ok with paying £3.50 to rent it; if we'd paid £15 to see it at the cinema I'd be less happy!

Mel Gibson is, indeed, in top form. Yes the movie talks about some uncomfortable things, but does it in an insightful and thought provoking way. The characters are believable and deep. All of them! Great change from CGI and action packed movies that come out of Hollywood in hordes these days. Very few have great dialogue to accompany with the fancy tech work. This movie provides a welcoming change and reminds us of our capacity for humanity, compassion, love and tolerance.

Overall, a great movie experience.

Enjoyed it at Times But found it Quite disturbing!

I have to say that this is a good little film. I read critical reviews on here and in newspapers and I think that they are overthinking it and also just enjoying taking a shot at Gibson. He is a top actor and I think gives a brilliant performance. Watch his eyes. He is so able at portraying emotion.

I'm a fan of this film. It made me laugh, cry and think. What more can you ask for?

The Beaver is a terrible actor with a poor cockney accent, thought he may of been Australian.

Just when you think Mel Gibson has completely lost his marbles, he comes out with this brilliant little corker! I almost forgot how good Mel actually is as an actor and this just reaffirmed it. Watch this when it's cold and dark outside and you're all alone with a bottle of red wine, a thick blanket and the fire is burning gently as it warms your tired feet. Great couples film!.
