Found this film utterly moving from start to finish. Exceptionally relevant that people can relate to regardless of their gender or sexuality. Left me feeling totally moved.

Very moving film, not too soppy and very realistic. As said in the film, and as one the reviews shows on here, people don't want to know about gay life. May be legal now, but as long as its behind closed doors eh?

Everything about it was so beautiful and powerful!

For me words can't describe just how beautiful this film is. It makes me laugh; it makes me cry; but most of all it gives me hope that there may one day be that one true romance out there. Even if for only a weekend. "It's better the have been loved, than never loved at all."

A film that feels real and deep. The sort of conversation I had hoped to gain at university only to be found in a flat in a tower block in Nottingham.

Beautiful, film. Love both the characters, really acted, just a good feeling film. Another British film worth every penny.

Beautifuly shot, really involving characters and moments of intimacy that are really moving too. The acting had a very natural style. The film seemed so realistic, it was also funny at times. It is a shame it didn't have bigger success as it can appeal to a wide audience of film lovers of any sexuality.

Not like any other film I have ever seen, refreshing and seemingly spontanious and realistic! Very romantic, I loved it!

at times i forgot i was watching a movie, it was as tho i was eavesdropping on intimate conversations. engaging,, soulful film . heartfelt recommendation.

A rather realistic, grounded love story with fantastic acting. While it doesn't exactly break new ground, everything in the film is excellently executed. A little slow at first, but well worth your time.

After reading so many reviews including one saying its a gay movie of the decade I watched and I'm not impress. All movie just talking and talking and talking. Also music not nice but everyone has different taste.

Like other posts prior to mine here this is truly a wonderful film that depicts the real life of being in a relationship whether gay or straight, but the fact this movie has broke the mould of what gay relationships look like to the outside world is just genius. fantastically written and oscar wining performances I have watched this film again and again. Some movies just immediately go on the best viewing shelf.

About time. A 'gay genre' film that holds its own with mainstream heterosexual love stories. Superbly acted (Tom Cullen especially), wonderful story, excellently scripted. This is what gay cinema should be about.

It has raised the bar.

What a dull, dull movie! I feel robbed of my money. Love story? How on earth can anyone describe 'The Weekend' as a love story. Its about two rather confused and randy individuals whom don't know each other getting high off their faces.

It was so dull that at one point I felt my body system shutting down and my heart stop beating.

A love story told though casual dialogues, like it happens in real life, it takes you pondering in the avenues of life.

British cinema at it"s best . An exploration of intimacy between two gay men and the difficulties in achieving it from a damaged past . It left me with a sense of longing for what might have been ............

It goes without saying that this is the best British gay movie ever. But that label should not disguise the universality of the movie. This film - deceptively simple and funnier than it sounds - speaks to anyone who has ever been in love, gay OR straight.

Great plot based in north of England. Excellent set and amazing acting. Even though she had a small part, Laura Freeman truly fantastic. Go and see her too!

Finally a gay film that doesn't use being gay as a 100% of the plot device.

This is what the British do best!

This British made low budget movie moved me from the start. It is funny, clever, real and accurately depicts what falling in love is like, whether gay or straight. It looks at the how people meet and spending time together and the interaction they have when we are similar but also very different.

I really enjoyed this film, is well made, good camera work that is not too arty and is well written a must see, 5 stars.

This is the best film that I've seen in a long time...well scripted, good acting and nicely directed.

Simply put, a perfect look at life, love and relationships. The acting is Oscar worthy, the script is natural genus and the whole experience is what films should be about, that of creating an entertaining and captivating experience :) a must see!!!

A really incredible film, perhaps the best gay love story I've ever seen on celluloid. Not a moment is confected or cheesy and the writing, cinematography and performances are incredible.
