Terrific
A terrific, movie with both actors giving a great, superb job of portraying a genuine spectrum of emotions and thought in the given circumstance. Ryan does a particularly good job in role.

Mixed reviews!
For me it was a run of the mill shooty bang film with a predictable ending. However, my wife thought it was great (mostly due to her love for anything Denzil). So on average it gets four stars.

Top movie
Really enjoyed this and as usual Denzil Washington was excellent and Ryan gosling good too,which is a surprise. Plot good and action packed.

So Denzel rocks...
...and the film is smart, explosive and very well made. Better than the recent MI epic but I couldn't help feeling...I wish there was a new Bourne, Bond or Besson flim to watch instead.

Disappointing
I found this film boring and predictable. There seemed to be little to this film but violence. The only notable exception being Denzel Washington, a great actor, who it is always a pleasure to watch.

Not Washington at his best, but still worth watching
Safe Room does not see Washington at his best but Big D still cuts an impressive disgraced CIA operative, on the run, and in trouble after buying some digital contraband.
Slow at times it took a while for Reynolds to build credibility but once it got going the film is fast paced and exciting if predictable in parts.

The movie's story got copied more or less from The Bourne's movies. Although,D Washington is my favourite actor, and the movie has a lots of action parts, still I expected more.

Mediocre
I really don't know what all the fuss is about. Very average film, with Denzel playing his usual character which to be honest is getting very boring now. Not in the same league as Bourne or Taken.
I loved how the 'safe house' was so easily breached at the start by a gang of hood rats. I thought it was all over from that point but it's just about worth a rental.

Funny and shocking in places - this film relives what it meant to be popular at school and shows what lengths people will go to to obtain that. Highly recommended.

The only weakness of this film is ...
It is a well written, well acted, well directed and well produced film of the conspiracy theory genre where the lone maverick takes on the system. It is well worth watching and Denzel Washington is outstanding, as always. He adds such depth to the part that if he said "the sky is blue" you would try and find the hidden meaning!
The rest of my review gives away some elements of the plot, so you might want to stop now.
In true hollywood style the lone maverick is eventually victorious, although in this film the victory is posthumous. And it is a great death scene.
The only weakness of this film is: the rookie (Ryan Reynolds) manages to succeed where the old hand (Denzel Washington) failed and it is presented as a fait acompli, with no explanation. This is why I have given it 4 rather than 5 *s.

Very Poor
I rented this on the back of all the positive reviews, but it's awful one fast cropping fight scene after another, bound by a very dull plot. This is like a very bad copy of a Bourne film…………..Don't waste your money.

Really enjoyable, fast paced action movie. Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds turned in great performances. To be fair, it did not take a lot of imagination to work out the "bad guy" but it didn't detract from the film for me. If you enjoyed the "Jason Bourne", "Taken" or the most recent "james bond" movies you will probably enjoy this also.

Unbelievable film, superb!
What an amazing movie! A few twists and surprises and interesting plot will keep you at the end of your seat! Denzel, Ryan and Brendan are trully at their top notch performance in this cleverly written script by a new and very young commer David Guggenheim (not the famous Davis Guggenheim). I like the fact that is not a clear cut who is on which side which make the movie definetely worth a watch, its a very good 2 hours of entertainment which will pass like few minutes. Highly recommend it!

Bourne goes to Nandos
Almost as good as the Bourne films but based in South Africa the home of Nandos. Seriously though this is worth the watch, especially if you are desperate for another dose of European style espionage action thriller. Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds put in a solid effort to topple Matt Damon from his throne. You really should decide for yourself if they have succeeded.

Didn't get to the end
The write-up suggests an interesting delve into spy-level psychological mind-games but 50m into the film we were stuck on gun fights, car chases/crashes and general mayhem. Not sure where it was going and wasn't convinced it would end up anywhere interesting. Shame, looked a good role for Denzel.

I don't really like denzel that much I only like one of his films the one with the runaway train in what ever that was called.
The trailer makes this movie look really good it's very boring to watch two stars.
