A wonderful, magical,dreamy movie. :)

What can I say, I watched this film in my creative media college class and loved it, though nearly everyone was either bored or hated it. I love the visual, the acting and the message behind it. As a student studying animation, it really opened my eyes and made me believe again. P.S, Chole Grace Moretz pulls a great British accent. :)

Masterpiece

Enchanting and beautifully realised tale of fulfilment against impossible odds.
This film may not change your life but it may just plant a seed of wonderment within your mind. An absolute corker.

Hugo

A truly mesmerising, beautiful film. Not a blockbuster but an intelligent film for thinking people.
What category of film is it? that's difficult to say, but thats its charm.
if you enjoyed 'The City of Ember' then you will enjoy this, it has a similar feel.
Not a children's film but very well worth watching.

Really Bad

Terrible movie, and really, really bad acting. Predictable and incredibly try-hard, cliché, cheesy and boring storyline. Dont waste your money. Very disappointing movie from Scorcese.

Pants

Visually stunning, but what a poor poor story. Dreary, predictable and never reaching anything approaching a climax. Slotted nicely into my top ten list of films I wish I hadn't wasted my time on when I could have done something much more interesting.

Hugo

Simply amazing, but they should really have named it 'Hugo Cabret'.

I want to give 6 stars please.

I've cried multiple times during the film being a 24 year old male… anyone who doesn't like this has been lost in adult realities too much to be in touch with their emotions.

enchanting

Watched this in the cinema, and was treated to to best 3D experience ever. This movie is a work of brilliance. I am a big fan of Scorsese, and unlike other big directors who are running out of steam with age, Marty is storming ahead! Of course nothing compares to his earlier flicks, but he's discovering new grounds, challenging himself, keeping it original. 10/10.

Wonderful, Willy Wonka @ Chocolat

The trouble with this film, is , it is rated as a kids and family movie, where in fact it is a homage to early and pioneering film makers and it just happens that the main character is a young person. Its a brilliant film, and totally enjoyable, but whether your five or six year olds would get it is debatable, but then look at all the Roald Dahl books that combine child and adult themes.

Good film.

A film about films, the people who made them, how we have forgotten them and aspects of past technology and events that created today what it is.
The cast in this, show that even when remembering may be very painful, it can, with time and help be put to good use.
It is a film suitable for all that appreciate cinema, but great for children home from school feeling a bit unwell ( I hope you feel better after this ).
A Good and loving film with a kind center, Im not so shore about Sacha Baron Cohen.
The cast are all British, and many will be familiar, Uncle Monty and Frances de La Tour makes every one smile.

Fails to meet expectations

As a fan of Martin Scorsese's earlier works, I thought I'd check Hugo out. Whilst I was fully aware that this film was completely different to the Director's other efforts having seen the advertisement, I found this particular movie a real disappointment. As per some of the other reviews, the film spends a great deal of time setting up for a climax, but it never seems to actually arrive; at least, I wasn't in the cinema if and when it eventually did. As a huge film fan, I almost always watch a film through to the end but Hugo joins a very small list of only two films that I have been unable to watch through. That the other film was the Sean Connery version of the Avengers says something about my thoughts of Hugo.
Whilst I'm sure that Hugo will be an enjoyable film for many, for me it lacked any clear direction. Admittedly, the manner in which the film was shot was great; remember, the film is by Martin Scorsese; but for me personally the story was its greatest downfall.

Over rated

I was an hour into this film, nothing had happened and I felt a fool having spent £13.99. The movie trundles along at a boring pace and right when you think it's about to get going it doesn't. Great effects but storyline and content have been forgotten.
