Description

Good Moive
The desciption talks of an epic battle against a superior force. However the movie protrays first a warning shot by the americans sounding their horn on the aliens, then they do the same. The americans fire their wepons so the aliens defend themselfs. The the ameicans destroying them despite the aliens on earth showing the americans they are fleeing alien attackers on their home world...

I think that this is an underrated film (and that Rihanna is an underrated actress.) It's no 'Alien' or anything sophisticated but I have actually watched it a few times, always with enjoyment.

Does what it says on the tin
It’s a fun, stupid action flick. I’ve seen a few complaints that it’s aimed at the level of a 12 year old boy - clue’s in the title, it’s a film from Hasbro based on the game Battleship. This morning I was in the mood for some juvenile nonsense - Battleship delivered exactly that and I enjoyed it. If you want some juvenile nonsense you could do worse, if you’re after anything more you’re probably better off giving it a miss

This film was toatly brilliant.Rhianna was amzing and all the characters were there for a reason because some people think that the physical therapist shouldnt of been in the film.But if she wasnt in the film how would hopper of joined the navy.

Everything that's wrong with Hollywood
An ear-splitting, eyeball-curdling mess of SFX for people who thought Transformers was too slow and quiet. I gave it an extra star because the battleship was the only good actor in the whole movie.

This was pretty much awful from start to cheesy end. Special effects were a mixmash of Transformers, the linking of the game "battleships" in to a major action scene was so bad I think I laughed out loud at how badly it was done. One for the kids ie under 12

You've got to love the Americans (not). That said, I actually enjoyed the film for the most part. The action scenes were pretty good, as were the Aliens and the tactics to win the day were well thought out. Like John Carter, if you watch this with good action and a modest story in mind, you'll probably enjoy it.

Forgettable
Terrible acting, Taylor kitsch reminds me of John barrowman, kept expecting him to do a song!
Seriously though, I've seen better 'aliens invade earth oops i mean invade America' films. It was predictable and weak in storyline.
This could've been so much better, the special fx were ok, but definitely let down by the rest.
If you fancy leaving your brain behind then this is definitely the film to watch.
Liam Neeson shame on you for appearing in this, but I suppose it pays the bills! :)

Bad movie, bad story, awful actors and horrendous acting. I give it 1 star for the alien cgi robots. Film would have been a 5 star if the aliens had succeeded their mission and sank all the navy ships and wiped out all the bad acting and writing.

Independence Day with Added Cheese
Well I managed to watch it start to finish without being forced to switch off through the cheesiness so it isn't that bad. It's just a simple good action film but Jesus its cheesy in places. If you have a couple of hours to spare and are after no brainer entertainment then it's well worth a rent.

You can't beat a bit of ridiculess over the top "Earth getting taken over by aliens, but in order to do so you need the USS Missouri to do so" lol what a ship she is and if ever you folks get a chance to go and see her in Oahu do it. They have even moored her up along side what was "BattleShip row" during the attack on Pearl Harbour, next to the USS Arizona. Great over the top movie you won't be disappointed :-)

Chicken Burrito?
The best thing about this movie is that it was destroyed at the box office by the Avengers, which means there's no chance of a sequel.
It's basically a 2 hour recruitment ad for the US Navy, the aliens are really bad, nothing imaginative. For the first hour nothing happens, we get some really bad acting and then the final hour they try to do their best by mashing up Independence Day with Transformers.
The effects are nice but really boring, there's loads of dull grey generic spaceships and stuff blowing up, its been done a million times better in other movies. I don't mind dumbassery like that when its done well, but Battleship was just not interesting, it's no surprise it flopped at the box office. The film felt really long even though its just over 2 hours
