I don't usually write reviews, but I have to make an exception for this one, because I honestly think this is one of the best film ever made.
Not just for the way it's filmed, putting you right there at "child's level", in this special world where adults (unless you're mom) are only figures without really a face (that it until you actually grow up, which is what happens to Elliott, the main character, towards the end of the film).
This is such a beautiful, gentle film which manages to pull all the right strings at the right time. And so you can't help, laugh, cry and dream with it.
And then of course John Williams' score which adds a whole dimention to an already perfect film, with some amazing performances from some of the best child actors you've ever seen.
I don't know why would anyone NOT give it 5 stars.
Just pefect.
