An idyllic remote Irish fishing village - replete with twinkly-eyed eccentric Waking Ned Devine characters - is invaded by enormous tentacled creatures from the sea who are picking off the villagers one at a time. The inhabitants learn that the one thing the creatures don't like is alcohol, it makes people taste horrible, so they realize that in order to stay alive, they're going to have to get as drunk as possible.

It's a love story! Grab a drink, sit back and enjoy yourselves for 90 minutes!

Shows the Irish as drunken bums, The monster is more realistic.
Well worth it

Grabbers
Whilst the film tried to be funny it failed and was as boring as watching paint dry. Be brave and, if you buy /rent it, feel free to turn off within the first 40 minutes. we wasted our Friday night in an regretted watching it to the end......

This is a parody of all those monster movies that want you
to take them seriously... So however unlikely the underlying
story, it is well scripted, funny and at times quite exciting.
Well worth renting, although I wouldn't want to watch it again
too soon!

Rubbish
A really terrible movie, bad everything, waste of time, really would not bother watching.

Enjoy
This movie is quite short. Watch it's not that bad.

Bit of Lovecraftian-esque fun
In Ireland I wouldn't wander down little beach coves.
Monsters are suitably creepy and Itt might seem to be an endorsement to get drunk , but its a great romp. Well worth renting.

Great movie!
Lots of laugh out loud moments and wonderful Irish scenery. The effects are pretty good too!

I'll drink to that!
There was enough comedy, lovely scenery and convincing character interaction to keep my wife happy, whilst I enjoyed the well-rendered CG beasties. Well worth an evening in with your other half while sharing a bottle of wine (or two).

Funny scary terrific cast.
Why this wasn't a hit at the cinemas is beyond me.

Good funny horror film - a classic
Another superb film like The Guard with great character acting and a great setting, I don't normally laugh at 'horror' scenes but I did with this! One of those films where you just feel the actors were enjoying themselves too as seen in the screen chemistry between them all. More films like this please!

Its OK
Certainly not worth buying - if iTunes ever releases for rent then ok for a quiet night in. Nothing more.

Awesome!
Silly fun in the beautiful Irish countryside with a whole lot of drunken shenanigans, a fierce-looking alien, and a sweet love story on the side. Straightforward B-movie plot but terrific photography, excellent cast, and more than your money's worth in laughs. Bonus interest for sci-fi fans in quite a few references to classics of the genre too. All round great film that left us smiling and planning a holiday to Donegal next year. Excellent stuff. Should be available to rent but glad I bought it anyway. One of those you'll watch a lot just for the feel-good factor and, yeah, like I say, that absolutely gorgeous Irish countryside.
