Description

One of the most historically significant films of all time, Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List is a powerful story whose lessons of courage and faith continue to inspire generations. Winner of seven Academy Awards® including Best Picture and Best Director, this incredible true story follows the enigmatic Oskar Schindler (Liam Neeson), who saved the lives of more than 1,100 Jews during the Holocaust. It is the triumph of one man who made a difference and the drama of those who survived one of the darkest chapters in human history because of what he did.

Film itself is perfect and harrowing.
But the iTunes version is lacking the extras which are just as important as the movie itself. Also the subtitles are way too quick and even after 9 years haven’t been fixed.

6/5 for the movie, 4/5 for the iTunes copy

I can’t fault the movie. Nor can anyone - I’m sure you know that already. The iTunes copy, however, has one irritating flaw - the captions are much, much too fast. When writing comes up on screen it only lasts for half a second despite being several lines long. It’s really annoying.

OMG. What a film. After visiting Kraków recently and taking trips to both main concentration camps and Schlinder’s museum, we were keen to watch the film. Superbly directed, fabulous acting but the story line .... what can you say? So emotional, gripping, horrible to imagine and unbelievable to imagine that Jews were treated like that. We had seen exactly where those trains pulled in. Had stood next to one of the gas chambers, seen the pile of glasses, luggage etc but this film made it all so real. It’s a film not to miss but get the tissues at the ready.

A masterpiece.

It’s astonishing to me how the human race could have been so barbaric as to try to exterminate an entire people. And we continue to do so to this day. This film brings to life the utter horrors of the holocaust. An absolute must watch for everyone.

I first saw this in 1993, as a youth in college. I thought it was moving, beautifully made and utterly shocking. I watched this again last week with my family and think it's quite possibly the greatest story ever told. It pulls out the embers of humanity and compassion from history's darkest hour. The films sits in a category on its own and considering the horror it appraises, it's really beyond comparison with any other film.

Greatest..

This film is truly one of the best films ever, it always keeps you on edge. One of the best film i have ever come across. Steven Spielberg's best move by far, and because it is based on a true story it shows you how even in one of the most horrible times in history there can still be true heroes out there doing there part.

In my opinion, movies do not get any better than this. Some of the greatest acting ever caught on camera, but for me, it was Ralph Fiennes that stole the show.

Outstanding movie

I agree with everything that other's have commented on about this film , pure perfection . Without doubt Spielberg's best film by a country mile . Liam Neeson gives a masterclass as Schindler , Ben Kingsley is both witty and sad as Stern , and all the other leading actors play there respective parts with humility and class . This is one of those films that can be watched time and time again , and it will move you to tears everytime . So if you have'nt already seen it buy it as soon as you can , and watch one of mankinds darkest periods of the last century .
This film is in my personal top 10 film's of all time .
I gave this film 5 stars , but a 100 stars would'nt be enough !

Subtitles too quick to read

What's with the subtitles (that are part of the movie, indicating location and narration)? They are displayed at a very rapid rate. Some of them last one second only, I do not kid you. I had to pause the movie to be able to read them. They are an important part of the movie and put there by the Director himself so what is going on there?

Masterpiece.

Paraphrase….."He who saves one life , saves mankind entire", never more true than in the present…..whenever that present is. Watch it……..lest we forget.

It´s great and it´s shocking

To try and sum up a film of this magnitude is near-on impossible, beautifully-horrific is as close as I can get without a sting of adjectives.
It is filmed like a piece of artwork, you could hang it on your wall... The acting is faultless beyond anything you're likely to come across in modern cinema... Cinematography is spell binding...
The subject matter is heart wrenching to the point of tears and I defy anyone with a soul to be able to make it through without having to wipe their eyes...
It is a true classic in every sense of the word, and no matter how many times you watch it you are left feeling physically and emotionally drained... It should be compulsory viewing... It should be taught in schools and colleges....
If you haven't seen it; if you think this 'story' never happened, if you ever needed convincing that our world was was broken then I urge you... Watch this film... It will change your perception of life and humanity.

something everybody should see

Without doubt one of the best films ever made. A truly stunning depiction of Nazi Germany, during the Second World War, and their horrendous treatment of the Jews. Buy it! Genius.

To me this is my favourite film of all time, everything about this film is just perfection. The directing, the acting, the music, the cinematography and editing all compensate each other to produce a very powerful and moving film. Spielberg makes his most personal film to-date and his skills were rewarded with winning the best picture and best director at the Oscars. I watch this film every year and can't wait to see it again in stunning HD. Thank you iTunes

Speilberg at his best. Having just been to Auschwitz and to Schindler's factory and seen what they did to those poor people, this film can be watched over and over.
