You can buy a collection of the blu rays for about £50 (minus Spectre). Old reviews from the collection previously listed on the Apple Store suggest they used sell this for roughly the same price but then doubled it. Now they no longer offer the collection and want roughly £9 for each film!!!!! I have no idea what the distribution company is playing at but this pricing is absolutely insane and is stopping me from purchasing these films. Avoid until the price drops or just buy the hard copy.

The Bond franchise rescues itself from the atrocities of Quantum. Brilliant performance from Daniel Craig, stunning locations and action - plus a plot we can actually understand. Always a good thing.
It's nice to see they're echoing back to the original Bond more, with Moneypenny and Q. It makes it a better film overall. Granted, Skyfall is not perfect but it's a worthwhile watch.

I never write reviews, but I had to balance out some of the great reviews for this film. I am not a James Bond fan, and it has been years since I watched a Bond Film. My wife suggested we watch it as it promised to be modern and engaging. We expected something innovative and plausible (I know its a high expectation).
But oh dear. Pastiche, predictable and weak. It seems like old guard have got hold of Bond as a formula and will not let go, under any circumstances. So its the same old lines, the same old antiquated language of innuendo. And whats worse is the same scant disregard that its all impossible. The kind of things they were doing made no sense in the real world and I do believe these guys have been left behind…We are in 2015 now guys!
And as for the idiotic propaganda half way through about the enemy within, its banal and idiotic.
You really have to be a Bond fan to tolerate this garbage..And to you its great. To the rest of us its puerile. If you are not a Bond fan, be warned..My apologies for kicking off but it got under my skin..

There are two James Bonds. There is the literary character created by Ian Fleming, and the film version kicked off by Sean Connery in Dr. No in 1962. The literary character has always been the more fascinating. Book-Bond is not some oversexed, tuxedoed, martini swilling superhero with a quip for every occasion, but a blunt instrument of the British government - a hired killed on the side of the alleged “good guys”, who is frequently beset by moral doubt about his profession. While many people think Connery was the definitive Bond, Fleming thought he was ‘a thousand miles from my idea of James Bond”. I agree. And for me, Daniel Craig embodies Fleming’s Bond like no one before him. That makes his three films (to date) the best of the series for me - and Skyfall is the best of the trio. It is fast, furious thriller in which the people and the emotions matter just as much as the action. Skyfall peels back the layers of the Bond character, but not in a pretentious way. It both celebrates the series and redefines it. Intelligent blockbusters like this are very rare beasts indeed. It is a triumph on every level.

The worst of the new Bond films. The villain was terrible and very unlikely. So too the girl. The ending was awful. The journey to it dire. The theme tune however was great and the best song in years. Badly written plot.

Not a good way to celebrate 50 years of bond!

Not the best 007 film, not classic as gold finger or casino royal and not a 007 plot. Although, it is still a decent film, not at all the worst bond film, one of the best bond songs and villains. It was very disappointing though.

You wait along time for a stand out timeless Bond classic, and what a wait it has been for Skyfall. This will stand out in history with Goldfinger as being iconic Bond. Also what a way to celebrate 50 years of Bond, thankfully the producers learnt from the over indulgent in-movie celebration they did for the 40th in DAD and went onto make a classic Bond movie with a modern and unique feel to it. It was said that Connery was in mind for the Scottish games keeper role, but despite that being a dream coop and nice way to celebrate the 50th, it would of knocked a little of the good work the rest of the film does. Its also good to have a weird and evil villain again especially after the tame ones in previous outings. As for the Bond girls, Dame Judi is one of the best (she would of fitted in nicely with Moore in AVTAK) and offscreen you’ve got Adele’s killer theme tune, reminiscent of the 60’s themes. The future now looks promising for Bond after this, i doubt any films soon will reach these heights of box office records, but they will be brilliant as we’ve got a new M, Q, Moneypenny and Craig still has a couple of more outings left before we go searching for new talent again…JamesBland will Return

An all round incredible entry to the longest running film series in history.
Craig's third outing does not disappoint. Directed by Sam Mendez, the twenty third Bond film has all the elements that we have come to expect from this re-booted franchise with the film being primarily set for the first time in the UK.
The cast is superb with Javier Bardem's performance as the villain being one of the greatest, hell-bent on revenge against Dame Judi Dench's M.
A fantastic nod to the fans provided by the sixth appearance of the iconic Aston Martin DB5 in all its original glory which we have not seen since 1964s Goldfinger.
Fleming, Broccoli and Saltzman would be proud.

I know people praise this film but I just found it awful. Maybe it's because I like the classics and some fun, But where was the TOPICAL places!
I like seeing some beaches, jungles, deserts e.t.c
It was just set in London City then some country house in Scotland. The story just seemed to be dragging, it needed a faster pace.
For me too I need some good one liners and some comedy!
😒 😭😭😭😭 😒

Ok. I accept that this was a setting up certain things and I found it very enjoyable overall and appreciated the attempt to be a little different to the usual formula. However …
What kind of computer ‘expert’ plugs a master criminals laptop into their production network. He’s clearly an idiot and he’s supposed to know what he’s doing and the whole plot hinges on the assumption that this will happen. Seriously?! At that point I couldn’t suspend my disbelief anymore which is a shame because the film is excellent in many respects. Of the three Daniel Craig films I think it’s the least worthy.

Going in with the high expectations fit for any Bond film, I found this to be a complete and enjoyable drama, if a bit too predictable and left me ultimately feeling a bit flat. I remain somewhat conflicted when trying to consider this as a Bond film as it didnt tick the usual boxes one would expect. In short I do think that the script was the main flaw and Casino Royal, although very different from the older Bonds still remains well ahead of the three Craig Bonds.

The third episode of the re-booted 007 franchise, Skyfall is the darkest of them yet. Little confused by the title until we learn what it is late on in the film, which has very little to do with the actual plot. Still, it intrigued me enough to make me watch it so it did its job I guess.
Great acting of course from all those involved. What would you expect from a director like Sam Mendes, and the film sees the welcome return of two central characters that have been greatly missed: Miss Moneypenny and Q. Both are more three dimensional in this film than they have perhaps been in the past, when they provided the light relief to quite often a fast paced action adventure. The new Miss Moneypenny and Q are still lighter than those around them but their comedic role is much less stated too. Skyfall is Drama with just a hint of comedy. Very British humour, dry and understated.
What I like about the rebooted version of 007 is that it relies less on big, over the top sets to carry the story, like a volcano that doubles up as a rocket launch facility or vast underground complexes that are supposed to be secret, even from the host country? The escapism has been more believable, to me at least, because it is based more in how we live our lives now. Long may this new franchise continue.
Skyfall is Dame Judy's swan song as M and I've been left wondering if there wasn't a kind of love between Bond and Dench's M that could not have occurred between the two characters in the past. Anyway, watch it make your own mind up.

Ahh so Bond is Scottish. I wonder which way he'll be voting in the referendum ?? This film has some truly terrible lines, silly put on accents and a villain from Batman. What it doesn't have is a plot, suspense or anything resembling chemistry between Bond and the leading ladies. It loses any momentum it may have initially built up through it's overly long and very dull middle period and is cringingly unfunny ... That said, it does boast one of the most emotive scenes since Mr Hanky died in South Park - it'll have you in tears. If this is the best Bond film ever, I don't think I'll be rushing off to watch the others.

I was really looking forward to Skyfall after Casino Royale and Solace. However sitting through this in the cinema I was completely uninterested. I found the story rather dull, the movie was dragged out and characters lacked appeal. Some of the script was dreadful and the villain hyped up only to be let down. I won't go as far as saying this is an awful movie, it was just really lacking something the last two had.

I'm not sure what film other reviewers were watching, but Skyfall was just plain bad. In fact, I would go as far to say that it has to be one of the worst in years.
I've been a longtime bond fan, and have seen them all numerous times throughout my life. Skyfall I will probably avoid watching next time round.
Predictable
Boring
Stupid plot with big gaps
Cheesy in places
Only good thing I can say is that the actors made a bad script watchable, just, and once.

This felt more like watching a made-for-TV-movie, where the peril and visceral qualities of recent 007 movies and Craig's far more physical Bond had been censored for a pre-watershed audience.
It was evident where the budget had been cut and I'd agree the success of this movie has more to do with lack of competition on release, the departure of xxxx (spoilers), the rumours it would be the last Bond movie and the general love-in for all things British in 2012. More Bond movies with this tempo / lack of threat and Eon can kiss goodbye to the franchise.

It's okay.

Skyfall was meant to be the best Bond ever. Well It does have a great bad guy and a great song. But Bond was trying to copy the Dark knight trilogy and the the Bourne identity! And the story is not a Bond like story! This was not a good way to celebrate 50 years of Bond!!!

Shocking film not sure what film everyone is watching. Filming was bad, stuntmen and actors looked nothing like each other, lots of plot holes and mistakes. Return of the Jedi pit rip off, dark knight bad guy turned gay rip off, home alone ending rip off, Toy train crash effects, and just so boring plus turned M into a cow u wanted dead all the way through. How people say this is the best bond you need to watch the old ones again cause this is down there with Rodger moore's worst.
