1.i have watched it many times cús it is good.

2.i perched it because it is brilliant.

3.i really LOVED the ending of the movie.

1.well I love scary movies and I'm only 9 but unfortunately this movie is not even scary!

I loved this film !! It has a story line that captivated me from start to finish. Victoria and lily must have worked their buts off coz their characters really felt real and I highly recommend this film

I was definitely expecting a lot more from this film, I was very disappointed when I watched it.

I thought this film was really good! Was cliched in a lot of ways, but was still good, creepy in parts, and had a rather emotional and kind of poetically beautiful ending. If you want a horror story that isn't all doom and gloom, then this is it!

This is an AMAZING film!! When i watched it with my Friends we were totally freaked out and the ending was an unique twist which i really liked!! P.S the Trailer is WAY scarier then the Film?!?!

An awesome film! I really liked it and I would recommend any fan of horror to watch it. It made me jump a lot!

Mama is a strange beast - it has a couple of really creepy moments but ends up being a weird collection of ideas that just don't fit together that well as a whole. The ending is such a disappointment - I wasn't sure whether to laugh or not, which probably tells you everything you need to know.

No way I'm paying £10 for 50/50 reviews. Poor show iTunes.

Good movie and that but unfortunaly ending to cliche and crap

Rented this because the trailer looked good and was intrigued to find out what happened to the children. The thought of the girls alone with Mama was rather disturbing as was her appearances throughout. However, all the best bits were shown in the trailer.

The ending, although not wrapped up with a pretty bow as it shouldn't be, seemed to be missing something. A final scare….

Not your typical scary movie so overall was an ok.

A good film with several good boo frights and scary images appearing suddenly from shadows. Has all elements of good horror film, although, as title says, the ending was a bit of a let down, going from believable horror to cliché`d fantasy. Great special effects, although I only rented it because Del Toro was mentioned ! Great acting from the little girls. Worth renting or buying though.

This film brings a new meaning to the word horror, though in this case I'm not sure whether it's describing the genre or the quality of this film, Jessica Chastain, who's films are all usually of a certain standard, has allowed herself to be associated with a real dud. Mama will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

I didn't want it to be too scary but at the end I wished it had been a bit scarier than it was.

The first half was great, really scary an jumpy.... then it all went down hill and the ending just made me laugh, unrealistic and stupid

The film was really promising but the end was terrible. It went from real horror to Lord of the Rings sort of thing… No good. Sorry...

This film was absolutely amazing, however for what is supposed to be a horror film its doesn't give to many frights, but it is amazing. The ending is one of the most upsetting endings to a film I have ever seen. Buy this film

There were several creepy moments that got me a bit jumpy. Unfortunately though, the ending became very cartoony and was very disappointing. Overall, the storyline itself didn't make much sense to me at all!!

Stop reading here - spoilers alert...

What troubled me was that:

(1) At the beginning we see the father about to shoot one of his little girls then towards the end of the film he appears to his comatised brother telling him to go save his children.

(2) Why would this ghost have kept the children alive and nurtured them, providing food for 5 years only to want to kill them? In fact, the ghost saved the girls from being shot by their father - as she killed him. OK - you may say she finally decided to kill the girls so that they could be together forever but surely she could've done that a whole lot sooner and saved herself all the hassle. Even if they hadn't been found, they would've grown up and needed less nurturing, play time and a lot more food!

(3) Apparently, she was after her own dead baby's remains, which she then got at the end. However, she was pleased for about 5 seconds and had no problems crushing her own dead baby's bones before chucking them away like garbage - and this is supposed to be "Mama", the ghost that is so loving of children (in a twisted kind of way), she just can't let go!

(4) It was disappointing that the uncle's role wasn't better developed apart from him having financed the search for the missing girls. His role just died out and nothing then really happened apart from the occassional spooky ghost appearances :(

Like I said, it was ok - some good jumpy moments here and there, it could've been better.

Mama, well it does have good scares, surround etc turned up load it will make you jump… The story is different from your normal horror film, certainly enough to keep you interested that's for sure. For me though the thing that let the whole film down was the ending. I'm not going to spoil anything for anyone….

Don't get me wrong I don't regret the £10 I spent on this not at all… I just wish they'd thought the ending through, or at least come up with something better….

Watch it and cast you vote, personally I'd rent or wait until it's reduced though if your on a budget… I took a gamble on this and don't mind spending a tenner to watch something average now and then. You will certainly watch worse this year for sure….

Defiantly worth renting, Great original story, good acting and highly entertaining with some great scary bits, just the ending was a little bit of a let down. Otherwise would have been 5 stars !

Good film, some good scares. Definitely worth a watch.

Under normal circumstances this film would be ok, but seeing as it is a Del Toro production it is difficult to be impressed. After all, 'The Orphanage' is possibly my favourite film of all times.

Shadow shots, long hair doing supernatural things, contortion, bone clicking.... yawn!

Del Toro reached his peak with Pan's Labrynth. Ever since then he has gone downhill.

Too much Hollywood influence. He needs to get back to his Spanish roots.

I guess this film is OK for the most part, but the ending is utterly abysmal. I think the spirit woman's face should have been obscured all the way through. It looked a bit farcical, close up.

I would have preferred more character development and less CGI. The children gradually warming to the surrogate mother was a nice development, but this, on its own, wasn't enough.

Come on Del Toro, you can do far better than this...

This is just simply a beautiful film. If you enjoyed Pans Labyrinth you'll love this. A dark fairy tale. I don't understand how people can not enjoy this? They must be the dullest people in the world who just want to be spoon fed the usual scare tactics.

Very good movie,money well spent. A good horror, in a long time, on itunes...

What a good film watch it now

I really like this film, good scares but ruins it at the end for me, its like a fairytale at the end and a bit sad , i cried at this and its a good film but just a bit pridictable x

Each scare was signposted by a mile, watched it with my two kids who were not particularly scared. However acting was good especially the kids. Ending was worse than scooby doo...........those pesky kids!

Overall enjoyed the movie some tense moments, 1 or 2 genuine scares was expecting more effects were't great and the story was just ok.

I was in two minds whether to rent this film after reading some of the reviews, however, I'm glad that I did because I found the movie to be thoroughly captivating;definitely a change from the norm.

Highly recommended.

Too fantasy ish to be a proper horror. 'Mama' was Inspired by the 'Grudge'... obviously. Slow, predicable, pointless. 0/10 on the scary scale. Sloppy effects. Hated this movie.

I am a big fan of horror movies but this was just great victoria and lily were gorgeous and such good actress for being so young I really enjoyed it and the ghost woman was kinda spooky but I really enjoyed this mvoie and have watched it 4 times since buying it

This movie is simply BEAUTIFUL! I know that this word is unlikely to be used when it comes to horror movies. But that is why so many people left unsatisfied by this feature. Mama is NOT a horror movie. It is a FAIRY TALE, and it is by the best possible way that is. Of course it is scary as much as Hansel & Gretel would be if it got to be made the proper way. Mama is full of disturbing and beautiful visuals but they never overused. The two little girls are simply amazing. Their acting skills left me speechless they are so serious and their faces their expressions are books where you can actually read their terribly sad story. The effects are just masterful. CGI and practical make-up so seamlessly blended together that is very rarely happening in today's movies. There is a lot of artistry involved in every aspect of the film. Is there anything truly game-changing within the feature? No, I don't think so. But that is not why I purchased the movie anyway.

I think this movie is visionary and extremely atmospheric. I loved it! Let's see what do you think!

Really enjoyable film with some great ideas going on. The CGI is approached in a slightly unusual way that gives this film character. Good scares and some sorrowful undertones. Solid.

It seems like every horror film has reviewers on here that just don't understand. Apparently everything is boring and eventful. The fact is that their imaginations are just stunted and limited.

The film is ok its more of a thriller than horror as people would believe it to be.

This film really proves how different people are as most of the reviews I completely disagree with. I saw this at the cinema and was terrified. It is an original film compared to most horrors out at the mo, the feral kids were disturbing and the thought of them alone with mama is also scary. I actually loved the ending, why people always want things wrapped up in neat packages I don't know. That's not life and its dull.

I really enjoyed this film - or most of it anyway, felt the story line was pretty cool. But the ending was terrible and really ruined it for me, it was bit of a let down.

Good film, quite scary but the ending was stupid and a bit of a cop out

There are the occasional good scares in this but you can see them coming from a mile off as they're rendered useless in a story that's all but cobbled together from various Japanese and Spanish films most have seen by now with a hefty dose of the first Poltergeist thrown in for good measure. Same old, same old. Spooky ghost woman, could be bad, could be not, little kids, could be bad, could be not, plucky loner type woman, could be disuaded from maternal instinct, could be not. Cue lots of shadow shots, shots of moths, shots of room corners, shots of distorted creeping on all fours, shots of kids doing weird things. Just basically: lots of shots all lumped together with a 'story' my nan could have written on the back of a bit of bog roll. Yawn.

I realise del Toro's name carries a lot of weight amongst the more discerning horror fans but this was extremely disappointing given the fuss there's been about it. The ending was daft as well and Jessica Chastain comes across as thoroughly dislikeable and one-dimensional the whole way through. Overall, another hyped up Hollywood 'horror' that fails to deliver much more than some good lighting and CGI (oh and to be fair, two great performances from the two little girls). I'd say give it a miss but expectations are so low nowadays, I doubt most even realise how short-changed they are. Terrible.

was expecting more from this film . only jumping once is not good enough for a so called horror . cgi is not good i found it slow and predictable .
