I really enjoyed watching this film and it was really entertaining to watch with bits of violence and excellence.

It was really understandable and I thought the whole film was an absolute winner. It ticked all the boxes for me and I really recommend you watch this film. It is spectacular.

I find it rather hard to find a film that can grab my attention, especially when it's a remake or a twist on a classic but I really enjoyed this film! With all the other fairly-tale classic I found them predictable and boring but this one had unexpected twists the whole way through and you can't beat a love story been thrown in there. Finally to top it off Jeremy Renner was the perfect piece of eye candy to look at the whole way through. A must see.

Awful awful movie; no real story, bad acting, gory waste of space

Aside from the historical anachronisms and the silly use of weaponry, this movie has a lot of mindless violence against women. Hansel should have got the oven. I ended up feeling sorry for the witches. The plot, characterisation and cheesy dialogue where no one makes an effort to sound anything other than Californian make this an epic fail. Wiccans will be particularly offended, and should AVOID this movie.

Hard to believe you can spend so much money to make a film this bad.

Lavished with CGI, a story line's in there somewhere but only as an after thought. After 3 witches killed, it all gets a bit samey until they get to the end when they show you the interesting bits they put in the trailer then BAM......the end. Dissapointed.

This is not a bad film but I would not suggest you pay to watch it. Not a great story, not great characters. My suggestion, wait till it is shown on tv.

this idea of re-vamping this age old fairy tale in this same way they took the idea of abraham vanhelsing fell apart from its opening scenes .

This was never going to be an award winning film however the potential was there to do much more and much better . Disjointed cast with a wishy washy script , dissapoint . This is for renting not for buying

Enjoyed this film worth a watch

Worth renting for sure, the only downside is the annoying lead actress whom 'over acts' the part, but aside from that a really good film.

Buffy standard special effects, a plot as thin as Van Helsing, and not a character or thrill in sight. All but the feeblest minded should avoid.

The premise wasn't too bad, update a fairy story and make it contemporaneous for today. However, the execution is appalling, as the 'acting' is so wooden that it almost gave me splinters. It takes far more than squeezing the lead characters into leather and chucking in a gratuitous 'F' word occasionally to satisfy an intelligent audience. No doubt this is entertaining - if you're still at primary school.

Amazing and action packed film from start to finish, can't understand why anybody would give this film a negative review. And if that isn't enough Gemma Arterton is so sexy in this film.

To be fair, it is pants. We all love a bit of escapism, but when it looses its linearity, it is boring. Silly weapons, far fetched concepts, all a bit childish really, but worst of all, it's all been done before and it brings little to the party. If you lack an imagination this can be interesting, no offence, but after the first "witchy" bit is over, you don't get more than that other than more of the same 2D fights, a bit of poor dialogue and a good witch showing Hansel a good time in a pond!

Big old witch gathering at the end for a ceremony to create the "worlds hardest witch", up pops a hero with a rediculous witch whacking weapon, and its suddenly down to Hansel and Grettle to finish the job. There is a bit of a twist i suppose, although more of a rub than a full nipple burner, and the hole idea of Hansel being a diabetic due to eating too much house as a kid, is moronic.

Famke still looks great though, not as a which that is!

The people who made it not only butchered a timeless children's classic, but they did so without any sense of humour, irony, talent or other redeeming features. Unless you have a knack for self-mutilation, avoid at all costs.

Why Jeremy Renner is in this is anyones guess. From start to finish this is a poorly conceived mess of a movie with a rambling patched up plot about witches trying to take over the world or whatever. Rather than going into politics - the easy way - they wait for a once-a-decade moon eclipse, silly witches. There are some slick special effects natch but the whole thing is let down through an utter lack of storytelling and a light almost comedic approach couched uncomfortably next to the excessive gory violence.

Its a decent film but I wouldn't spend money on it. My advice is not to buy it and wait until it comes onto sky premiere etc. Its an ok film but a bit too gory for the classic tale. Definitely not a family film.

Only a child will give this any more than 1 star. This is very poor, entertaining for about 20 minutes, then monotonous. Don't waste your money. Watch a decent film instead like 'Wreck It Ralph' or 'Stepbrothers'
