Description
The citizens of Spokane, a small town in Washington state, awaken to the sight of North Korean paratroopers dropping from the sky. The U.S.A. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Without warning, the town is unable to fight back and finds itself under enemy occupation. Evading capture, a group of young patriots - led by Jed Eckert (Hemsworth) seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganising themselves to become a guerrilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors and take back their freedom.

Enjoyed most of it
Some good scenes, pretty good for a lonely night in.
Only problem that got me was the entire population of North Korea is 24 million, where as the US has over 300 million citizens. The invaders would be slightly outnumbered.
But forget the realism, this movie has some fun parts for a war movie.

Reddawn reboot!
Watched in HDTV very teeny action movie shorter and forerunner than the 1984 p. swayze flick. Enjoy hems worth performance girls will love tho a bit of gunplay and boyish behaviour.

This wasted time that I will never get back. What a load of " I love America" trash. Soon Homer Simpson will be saving the world on his own. Loved the first film as it was underground, pure, different.

Entertaining and action-packed
As you'd expect, this isn't going to win any awards…! BUT, for the entire time it is on you are drawn in, the plot is slightly crazy as nothing like that would ever happen (If North Korea did actually want to take over America they would just drop a nice big nuclear bomb or 2 and flatten it!), the action is good - if a little rough around the edges - better than a lot of 'action' movies I've seen recently. The cast are good and you can feel a bond between them however Josh Hutchinson shows exactly why he was chosen to star in The Hunger Games trilogy with his wonderfully enthralling and emotive style.
So, to repeat and conclude, it really isn't going to break any records or win multiple oscars for direction or acting or screenwriting but it is a nicely-paced, action-filled, North Korea despising movie.
p.s. All of those who believe this to be propaganda, this film is actually a remake of a 1980's films in which Russians invaded america. THIS movie was made in 2010 and was sitting on the shelves at MGM due to their money-issues and originally featured China as the invaders but was soon changed post-production and all flags and uniforms were changed to the North Korean flag digitally to closer represent current politics! So, before you start complaining do your research!
p.p.s. I believe that every American should watch this film because there if anything like this ever does happen then it's more than likely to be the Koreans!

Not as good as the original in my opinion,but hey different time, different enemy, all be it under the same communist colour flag...lacking a bit of back ground empathy with the characters , but saying that a fast paced Hollywood war film for pre pubesent viewers...if your looking to equal the 80's commi bashing Swazyesk kids can save America type of film dont bother..but worth a watch if you'v got a spare hour or so to kill and a box of pop corn.

This film does exactly what it says on the tin and is entertaining. If you want a documentary, there is an entire section on iTunes for you to browse.
I think we have to accept that there are some films that can be both entertaining, and ridiculous, at the same time. This is one of them, so you guys need to chill out.

This was such a good film. I enjoyed it thoroughly. It shows us what our men and women have to endure everyday having to fight for what is theirs. I would highly recommend this film to anyone.

Quite shocking that film like this would be made these days and shame of Chris Hemsworth for being involved. This film attempts to stir up hate towards North Koreans and is the sort of film we should have seen the back of soon after the original was made.. which this is (at times) a shot for shot copy of….. Terrible.
