I saw this at the cinema when it came out. Well worth a second watch. Lots of big budget effects & edge of the seat action.

Brilliant film

This is coming from someone who has not read the book! Or, sorry, yet to.

Very poorly shot and produced scenes at the beginning, didn’t justify the budget they had.

Typical zombie film, just looked better (however it is what you expect in this modern age of CGI, etc.), could guess the story line, which is becoming a common, yet boring theme amongst big budget films.

There are positives, Brad is a great actor as always, but he pretty much rescues it from the crash it could have been.

I would recommend you watch it, but wait until it’s more suitably priced/available.

It has however, encouraged me to read the book, how it compares will be interesting!

Could watch this hundred times over, I love the film

Loved every minute and was on the edge of my seat for the whole movie....fantastic!!

I wasn't expecting anything of this film so I wasn't disappointed when I didn't get very much.

This wasn't a very believable film not just because of the sloppy direction but because of the unrealistic special effects and the far fetched story line (if you could call it a story at all).

And it went on ... and on ... and on.

I found myself fast forwarding it in parts then eventually fell asleep. Rewound only to fast forward again.

Pointless film.

I really looked forward to this movie, and started great, and then!!! It's like they ran out of money, the last half seemed as if they put no effort in what's so ever, it was a shame.

I absolutely LOVED this film. Was gripped from start to finish. Was not expecting it to be as good as it was, Brad Pitt was excellent. Am gonna now read the book cos everyone is saying it is brilliant.

The film is defo worth watching, i've watched a few times and still enjoy it.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy zombie films but this film was dire to the point that I may not watch another Brad Pitt film. Some ok effects but seriously underwhelming as an offering.

This is one of my favourite movies to watch. I really like the horror and action in these sorts of movies, also this movie show how families are important to everyone.

Danny Boyles 28 days later is still far more captivating, even when i catch it half way through on late night tele. I am Legend/world war Z probably would of been alright if the yanks hadn’t made them.

May this is a metaphor of how the americans are trying to infect the whole world with there failed democracy and there greed for control.

It is a well thought out film with a nice mix of thriller, horror and action. The storyline is good and it is definitely worth your time

This was a roller coaster ride executed really well. I've watched a lot of Zombie films but the zombies in this were the best I've seen to date. The film is big budget and it's not been wasted; you get a real sense of what it would be like on both a personal and epic scale and in a way I have not seen before.

The only thing that spoilt it a little was the ending which was a bit sentimental but that said, the rest of the film truly delivered.

Every time I get to the first 38 seconds the film stops and I can't continue watching the film I've tried turning on and off my iPad and closing the app but nothing working

Very average movie. If anything, it convinced me to stop watching Brad Pit movies...

Can't understand why a highly talented actor like Brad Pitt would choose to work on this one, or why he choose to invest money in it... if you want a really scarey movie about a world-wide virus go for 'Contagion', much more satisfying...

I like zombie movies but found this one full of the usual americanisms. One man saves the world, plenty of special effects and a threadbare plot. And it is the latter that winds me up-I know that it is fiction but some of it (especially the end) beggars belief.

Didn't really know what to expect from this film but really enjoyed it. Lots of action and entertainment.

The film was ok, I kind of enjoyed watching it but I was expecting a little more. Never read the book so I didn't really know what to expect a part from that it's a Zombie film!! I think if the film wasn't lead by Brad Pitt then I probably wouldn't have watched it.

The film does a good job of drawing you in for the first hour and the effects and big scenes are top banana but then it just kind of steps down from big budget blockbuster into low budget with an ending that signalled that cast and crew had got bored and decided to just call it a wrap and go home. Worth a watch but ultimately not as good as I Am Legend which is the closest thing (that I have watched) to it.

Just rented and watched it... As a Brad Pitt fan have to say that I expected much more from a production he takes part in... But ir happenes to be another Z-class zombie movie with pro family tear teaser parts.... If one compares this movie to let's say any part of Rersident Evil, the result can be only one: Brad Pitt's is a mistake... Just another American Hollywood produciton so predictable that one can go and make urself a cup of coffee without of missing a bit.... not rocommend at all.....

For someone who enjoying the zombies movies 28 days later,28 weeks later, zombieland, Shaun of the dead and to name a few, this rank among one of the best zombie up to date. It enjoyable to watch again and again. I would have given it a five star if it had more or extra minutes of zombie scare fest where it began on the streets of Philadelphia PA as Gerry family fight to drive out of city close up whilst it all happening and above the city from the distance to see more destructions and chaos to when they arrived at the apartments in Newark to give a claustrophobic atmosphere like The Horde. Maybe I'm just fussy demanding more out of the film that is excellent to watch. I recommend the film who looking for action pack

This is a must see film with a good story line, great acting and fantastic ending.

I watched the first ten minutes then paused it. I took out my brain cells and watched some more. It was still really bad, I thought it would get better but NO. Fortunately for me the Apple store decided to stop the film halfway through, so I lost half the money I payed for renting it but, I WAS SAVED FROM WATCHING THE REST OF IT, thank you Apple I will always love you for that, but can I have my £2.24p back please. I would recommend this film for the under 10s just to show them how to cope when a zombie eats their parents (see boy at beginning of film, he seems quite happy) That does not spoil the plot because there isn’t one.

Typical Big Budget American Block Buster, but I sure as hell loved it.

Waaaay over the top, whilst remaining highly entertaining and enjoyable through out.

Not usually the type of film I would generally entertain, but I am glad that I did.

This is such a bad film. If it didn't have brad pitt in it I suppose I wouldn't have watched it, as usually he has good taste in the films he acts in. This film, however, was not one of his best. It had no suspense and certainly no jump factor. Totally underwhelmed!

Ok, it's a Zombie film .. Which immediately puts its into a 'category' in most people's heads.

However, Hollywood have chucked millions of greenbacks at it and someone in a back office in a Hollywood basement with a typewriter and an extremely pale skin complexion, has worked out a little 'twist', which makes it slightly different.

Continuity director on the Airplane/Airport sequences needs a boot up the rear ... Terrible !

With a Hollywood budget the size of a British Conservative MP's annual 'entertainment' expenses bill, and they still used 3 different types of airplanes for one sequence !!

Defo not a brilliant film by any stretch of the imagination, but not bad, not bad at all.

Interesting start to the film… then a slow motion slippery slope into full fledge Israeli propaganda - what a shame. Should have saved my time and re-painted the ceiling!

I thought this film was actually prity good. Some of the acting was poor at times but would easily watch again.

I expected more, but really, its an average zombie movie. Brad pitt saves the world and bores me senseless.

I like zombie flicks, I like action flicks, I like Brad Pitt...ish. But I'm not sure what all the 5 star reviewers were watching because it wasn't the same thing I saw. I gave 3/5 because 3.5 wasn't an option. I thought the story was okay, but, like most big movies now, they rely too heavily on cgi to carry the film. Was a bit better than average.

If you're curious about this film then rent it, watch it and then thank your lucky stars you didn't buy it. Promising concept let down with a very poor script, cliche ridden storyline and an over reliance on visual effects. It constantly suggests interesting story paths and then ignores and forgets them. The "HERO" survives zombie invasions plane crashes and ultimately "The Zombies" themselves, it wouldn't have bothered me if he hadn't. Brad Pitt's blank expression throughout the film is exactly how my face looked whilst watching it. Overall a very poor movie.

I lot of reviews I’d seen said this was a disappointment but I was so impressed with the VFX in the trailer I thought what the heck and rented it. I’m glad I did. Great action, unpredictable plot, and it’s nice to see a hollywood action movie that doesn’t end with fisticuffs between the hero and villain.. It’s not exactly high-brow, but it’s engaging, exciting and satisfying. Worth a look, honestly!

First and foremost, it has to be mentioned that a common gripe has been addressed, in that the second version of this film was released within a reasonable time of the original copy. I have learned my lesson and do not download anything until a week or so has passed, at least. I am glad that some executives are listening to their customers' needs, much in the spirit by which this company has been successful. Nonetheless it took a rather sarcastic comment and a disproportionately harsh response to get the message through. Regarding the film itself, considering whether it is actually any good or not depends very much on your expectations. If you expect horror, forget it, and it has rather wisely been categorised under drama. I did not find much tension either with many scenes being underplayed. No doubt there is quite good reason for that which are surely connected to the book the film is based on, although many fans of the book have criticised/commented on the difference in style. Still, the underlying strength of the film is the credibility with which the plot unfolds, even though there are a few irregularities that do not quite make sense. Focused acting, fluid production, and sharp editing make it commendable and although not the worst in the zombie genre, certainly not the best either.

I was a bit doubtful with Pitt being the leading character but am glad I took the chance. Well acted and scripted throughout. Edge of your seat sci-fi.

This is a fast paced action thriller. Plenty of ‘edge of your seat’ stuff and great SFX. The plot isn’t the most intricate or clever but the film keeps you glued to the screen so 4 stars for me.

Having read the book, and read a load of stuff pre-release I was expecting to not like the film too much. To be sure the film probably should be called something else as it really doesn't have a great deal in common with the book ( which I thought was a great social commentary ). It's a shame they didn't follow the book really, but I guess Mr Pitt needs to be the star running around doing stuff rather than sitting at a UN desk recounting stories collected from around the world.

That said I did actually enjoy the film. It's worth watching purely to see the Israel scenes where it all goes wrong very very quickly. It was pretty epic. There is a lot of sillyness in there, but hey it's pretty clear this is a Brad Pitt blockbuster, not a chris Nolan epic.

Shame there wasn't anything about the zombies freezing, or them walking under the sea, or the surviving rich ending up being useless in comparison to their more practicle underlings, but hey-ho.

Expected so much more from this film. Just wasn't dark or scary enough, leaving me feeling quite underwhelmed.

All I can say is Brad must've been pretty hard up when his agent approached him about this! I love a GOOD zombie film, but this is definitely a very BAD one!!

Good film, not a great story line and I wouldn't watch again but, it was quite enjoyable.

Really enjoyed this film ... Big budget hollywood take on Zombie films with a decent story and fabulous effects but it's not in the same class as the benchmark ... 28 Days Later.
