Description
Gordon (Richard Lumsden - Sightseers) is determined that he and best friend Keith (Karl Theobald - Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa) will conquer Wainwright's Coast to Coast Walk from St. Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire. But when a stray conversation determines that old school friends Steve (Jeremy Swift - TV's Downton Abbey) and Julian (Ned Dennehy - TV's Luther) join them on the trip, their best-laid plans reveal multiple mid-life crises. Downhill is a comedy of errors, a testament to the tragically incompatible and a blow-by-blow account of the highs and lows of decades-long friendships.

Seriously?
Having watched the trailer, I was unsure.
But having read all the reviews we gave it a go.
How do so many people think this film is so great? Depressing, slow with around 5 funny lines that lift you back to average on the emotional scale from downright top yourself…
All these funny lines are in the trailer. I recently did a walk with my schoolmates up a hill, most of us late 30's. Was great fun, if it turns out like this in my 40's I won't be going with them again!
Anyway, you've been warned!

Better than expected
I was a bit reluctant to watch this, sometimes find uk comedy films a bit corny - all the Hugh grant crud, but actually really well made and funny film. Definitely worth watching.

Beautiful British cinema
Pedestrian and beautiful. A perfect Sunday movie with stunning shots of the countryside and a really authentic feel to every scene. Reminded me very much of Shane Meadows (but more cheerful).Enjoy

A must see!
Absolutely loved this film. It’s a reminder of why British Independent cinema is worth supporting. A film of male friendship told in such a brilliant way. Great casting, great script, great directing and fantastic editing. Loved it.

Total rip off from "The Trip"
If you watched Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon in "The Trip" then this film will feel very familiar . Enjoyable though especially if you're a guy in your 40's.

A gem!
This truly is a gem of a film, a sterling example of British film making at it’s best. Funny, poignant and deftly executed, Downhill shows us a window into the lives of this motley crew on their grand odyssey from coast to coast. Brilliant cast, superbly directed, in short, a must see.

Hilarious Comedy from a fellow backpacker
The movie is hilarious, as a fellow backpacker travelling adventurer I can relate to this so much! Absolutely fantastic, going to show this to the adventure family & newcomers! 10/10

Watch it ASAP!
Wonderful film, full of charm and wit. Every middle aged man should be able to relate to it and ladies...what a great insight into what blokes get up to when left to their own devices. Funny, sad, poignant and engaging. So good I went to the cinema twice to watch it.
