A mistaken delivery in Mumbai's famously efficient lunchbox delivery system connects a young housewife to an old man in the dusk of his life as they build a fantasy world together through notes in the lunchbox. Gradually, this fantasy threatens to overwhelm their reality. The Lunchbox is the story of the life we dream of versus the life we live in, and of the courage it takes to turn our fantasies into reality.

Beautiful
I hardly ever write reviews. But I just finished watching it and couldn't resist. This is such a beautiful movie. Haven't seen anything like this in a very long time. Nimrat (Ila) is absolutely stunning, I fell in love with her (character). Well done, finally a movie with a class from my homeland.

A deeply satisfying film
Elegantly told story about adults with real lives, a glimpse into a different culture that felt grounded. The main characters grew on me and I found I cared what happened to them all and therefore I felt real tension near the end of the film as well as the warm and humor throughout.
