Inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle, this powerful film stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw as the mixed-race daughter of a British Navy officer raised by her wealthy great-uncle (Tom Wilkinson) and his wife (Emily Watson). Highly enjoyable film

I was very much looking forward to a costume drama with an unusual topic. I was not disappointed. This is an excellent film. The acting is great, all characters are multi-dimensional and the story is interesting. Highly recommended!
