I got 20 minutes into this tripe then turned it off it was too embarrassing to watch any more

I'm a bit shocked reading some of these reviews. With the cast lineup and story summary, what did people expect?? I thought the film worked and rightly deserves its place beside Armageddon and Deep Impact as a solid disaster film.

A great film. Not really original but how many films are these days? Definitely worth watching. I wish I'd bought, rather than rented it.

I actually thought it was really great storyline, nice story and i love those 2 british lads. It really made me feel that both British and Americans are in one movie helping each other in an earthquake zone in the USA. There is just one little thing that bovvered me a little was that the earthquakes destroyed L.A i think that part was just a copy from 2012 in a way.

There's really not much to say about this film other than someone should shoot the scriptwriter, director, and producer. Please. Ridiculous, Cringeworthy and Appauling, are three words that spring to mind. There isn't one good idea across the entire length. And if you watch the making of and see the director speak, its easy to see why its so crap. There's no point to say the effects are any good because without a story who cares? Pathetic. Everything that's wrong with Hollywood is here.

I have not bought this film, but i have watched it at a cinema, and its great, a must have film. The effects are outstanding, and this film left me on the edge of my seat.

this film is amazing in CGI and portrayal of a unrealistic family's survival with many twists and turns to create a full suspense action thriller. With many famous faces and great acting. With 2 earthquakes and a tsunami what's not to love! Conclusion: 4.5/5🌊🌊🌊🌊

You know when you goto see a rock movie it isn't going to over stretch your mind, this is a pure fun popcorn movie, nothing more nothing less. Enjoy it for what it is..

But I liked it

This was a very entertaining movie. I agree that it wasn't totally realistic in some of the scenes, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you like suspense and action, I assure you that you will be at the edge of your seat the whole time.

Wow. Cheesy, terrible acting, terribly predictable, I cringed all the way through.

I enjoy a good disaster, those criticising the special effects need to take a step back in time I think? The CGI is very believable and the film very entertaining.

Treat this movie as a bit of fun and don't think too hard about it & it becomes an edge of the seat roller coaster ride.

I must concede however, the 2 British lads accents were indeed terrible. Made up only by the appearance of Kylie so the persons in charge of casting are forgiven.

of course as everywhere there are some cheesy moments but not excessively and you can argue that they fit with the plot. As disaster movies go this one is amongst the better ones. Definitely enjoyed it much more than 2012 (where actors and human plot in general were just awful). If you want to compare it to something then a slightly better than the day after tomorrow.

We turned off after 50 mins.

We normally like these 2012, day after tomorrow type films but this is so cheesy and lots of scenes look like sets. The chopper bit at the start looked like a toy and at times the effects seemed 20 years old.

Expected more from a big blockbuster type film.

This movie has sort of great action and unlike able characters that's including the rock!!! But the movie was so unbelievable that I got bored watching it

It's an amazing,astonishing and tense movie it's truly amazing and I'm speechless it's just mind blowing I love it so much I definitely recommend it to all. I was hanging of my seat it was that mesmerising , I don't know how people can say it's bad and unrealistic you obviously have a bad taste for movies. It's great and amazing oh and how the hell is it unrealistic you go and make a movie about it then and see if yours is realistic enough. It's truly an amazing and edgy movie I definitely recommend.

Every corny line and ridiculous stunt from every other low-grade disaster movie... what makes respectable actors sign up for a job like this?

Once you've had a few inner "Wows" at the special effects, you realise this is a non-film.

the one star is for the comedy effect "lets go an' get our daughter now" had us in stitches! if you like a comedy based on one man chopper driver this is for you. He can also drive small planes and power boats and has forearms the diameter of truck tyres. he loves his family and will save them from disaster with telepathic powers while millions die all around. plus you can learn loads on things like earthquakes and tsunamis and what to do in case of 10 richter scale disaster "let's get outta here". rent for a night of laughter.

Watching this film made me wish for an earthquake to save me from the tedium!

I'd rather watch repeats of the news from Bulgaria than watch this again.

If you’re bored and thinking about watching this film, read a book instead. Or do some gardening. Or some exercise. Make a cake. Clean the car.

If after all that, you’re still bored then only rent the film. Buying it would be a waste of money. The acting terrible, as is the script. Not worth it.

Actually this wasn't bad it was good. Kept me on the edge of seat for a few hours. No oscars here though!!

I dozed off for 30 minutes in the middle of the film and found I hadn’t missed anything when I woke up.

Possibly one of them worst films I have ever watched, acting is very basic, story line totally predictable & even the special effects were not that special.

To be honest I don't expect too much from a film of this genre (as in blockbuster disaster movie)

other than great effects, which is really the backbone of this type of film in this day and age. What i am getting tired, oh so tired of is this carbon copied script and weak predictable characters who are about as deep as sheet of toilet paper. Its the same old rubbish churned out wrapped in amazing effects hoping that they would deflect from the awful storyline. Just terrible from start to finish. I hope they re categorise this as a comedy. I should be. Don’t bother unless you’re so bored and fed up and need a laugh.

I’ve never considered self-harming before, but the American flag at the end of the film, made me want to bludgeon myself with a claw hammer.

thank god i rented this, i had to turn it off half way though it was that bad, i though 2012 was bad but that was good compared to this dismal attempt of a film.

This movie sort of encapsulates everything that is wrong with Hollywood today. Huge time and effort expended on the CGI. Virtually no time or effort spent on the writing. The entire script is nothing more than a lazy collection of stereotypes and well-worn clichés. Such a shame that what passes for a ‘good movie’ these days is too often just about the CGI spectacle. It would be just as stupid to only concentrate on the costumes!

Rubbish movie. Predictable, badly acted and with a very corny, patriotic ending. Avoid.

The special effects are OK, but not certainly not special enough to redeem the rest of this dreadful, dreadful film. Even more disastrous than the events in the movie was the earth-shatteringly appalling script. This film shamelessly ticks every Hollywood cliche box and will leave you wanting to throw things at the screen. Those poor, poor actors. This film is unknowingly verging on self-parody. If you never see this film, you will have spent 2 hours of your life doing something else more interesting/useful instead.

Saw this on the plane. I like DJ films. It's ok, it's fairly predictable. Cameo with Kylie. And yes a tidal wave thrown in. Why do Hollywood think that English people speak as though they've gone to Eaton!!! I'm surprised they didn't say "whato" or "Jolly God!"

Really bad ! In particular the two 'English' lads that help save the day ! They sound like something from the Victorian era... 'Chim chim cheroo' ! Does anyone speak like that ? Everything is in the nick of time to the point it becomes totally predictable after the first 20 mins, will be £7.99 in Supermarkets in a few weeks.

Every corny line, unbelievable coincidence in a totally predictable plot. It is however watchable is so far as the special effects are fantastic and if your a fan of the ‘Rock’ you get what you expect.

Some people are reviewing this movie on its 'realism' and how this could never happen in real life, so what if this will never happen, it's a movie and I loved it! The storyline was amazing and the acting was very well done, combined with the special effects makes this my favourite disaster movie and generally one of my favourite movies of all time.

Ok… Films like the Green mile, Shawshank Redemption, 6th Sense and Saving Private Ryan…

These to me are 5* films…

In this one the Rock can fly a helicopter, fly a plane and operate a high powered speedboat with out needing any assistance, his Wife even drives like a stunt women, she just automatically knows how to operate stuff…. So it is CHEESY….

Action packed and fun, the rock is his usual loveable self (I am a bloke I mean in a fun, you know what your gonna get type of way).

You know what’s going to happen through out the movie from start to finish.. No real surprises…

Great CGI as you would expect in 2015, although frankly I’m bored to death of it…

Going by the above TRUE GREAT FILMS… this is your usual 3 - 3.5…!

Still worth a watch and I didn’t moan about paying £14 for it… and I have over 530 on here...
